It’s still not same one and it’s corrupted version is on Demon spec which most people don’t play due to Ion literally saying they don’t want people playing Demon spec and well it being pretty much ruined xpac after xpac, even today I admire people that will still play Demon spec over Destro or Afflict because the DPS blows no matter how you spec or gear.
I mean, its function and its name are pretty much the same. Cast spell, deal damage to pets, the more pets you have out the more dps you do.
Also demo is literally the strongest damage spec in the game right now.
It’s still not the same spell, it’s a rehashed one and in the case of logs, not every Demon Warlock is that high, I’d have to see what gear these people are wearing, what they are speccing and how it’s working for them vs others because I have seen where one of my Destro Warlocks in greens fresh at 60 can out DPS a Demon Warlock that’s geared at least to Korthia.
Yeah like for San’layn while it’d be ideal to have a lot more lore, just a bit of it to justify having them on the Horde would be okay, I suppose. Toss them in with the ‘Darkfallen’ idea and we’re good. (WITH CUSTOMIZATION of course)
Plus, it’d be really neat to see more blood magic themes on the Horde and with Thalassian elves.
I think San’layn would be a good “base” for Darkfallen. The other undead elf representation(such as Dark Rangers and even Banshees) could come in as extra bits of customization such as warpaint, skin tones, faces and hair styles.
Shadowlands should have been a perfect opportunity to introduce San’layn as allied race for the Horde
I hope we could have other opportunities for that in the future.
Or at least have them or any other type of Undead as a Story Element.
Barely even got liches.
Shadowlands was a good time to bring in Horde friendly San’layn, growing the plot thread of San’layn wanting to join the Horde from Bfa, and also bring in Dark Rangers to help us track Sylvanas, who they’d likely have some strong words to say to her.
Unfortunately, like with BfA, it became a missed opportunity to include either. A big shame, really, though with Blizzard seemingly open to various requests lately, maybe we’ll be able to see Dark Rangers again and Horde friendly San’layn and they can be something more than just generic villains that are evil for the sake of being evil.
It’s a reason I still want to keep going with support. You never know if we’ll get lucky. Granted, expectations are tempered, but I’ll always keep hope!
5 days until the next expansion is announced!
Old God’s I hope we get Darkfallen/San’layn options for our Belves at the very least.
The announcement is closing in fast. Been a slow yet fast week at the same time, which is so weird. I think the chance of returning to Northrend for quite a bit of content is high, in the very least.
Aye. I miss Northrend.
You know we all expect Wrath classic… A return both in Classic and Retail would be wonderful symmetry.
Yeah. I’m not interested in ever touching a Classic version of the game (Waste of time for me as a roleplayer & collector who likes only moving forward, not staying still) but it’d be nice to see a return to it in retail.
If WOTLK Classic had transmog… I’d play it in a heartbeat. Still might since dungeon finder will exist. Lack of that and transmog are the two things keeping me out of the classics. I like being able to queue for stuff and I like being able to wear what I like.
A return to Northrend would be interesting and, judging from rumors, could be possible. Especially with all the talk of Galakrond being raised. Not sure how long we’d be there, though we could travel there briefly if it did happen. Not to mention that we still have missing Blood Royalty and likely others we don’t know about. It’d be good to see how others are faring there as well, like the Taunka.
As for WotLK Classic, I imagine it will also get announced with the next WoW expansion. I do dabble in Classic occasionally, having a server for Horde and another for Alliance (both for PvE). I have slots for Death Knights on both realms, so that’ll be fun to get set up when it becomes official. I do wonder where Classic will go past that, if Classic+ will be a thing or so.
I do think having a return to Northrend with some events there to go alongside WotLK Classic coming out would be pretty neat. I know they would come out at different times, but it’d still be interesting. Guess we’ll see what happens when stuff gets announced.
But whatever happens, I’ll always support playable Horde San’layn!
Makes sense. I just hope they don’t require someone to play Classic to get rewards in Retail. That will always bug me if that ever happens. It’s just not my cup of tea, at all, and it’s great for those who like it, but… yeah, no. I suspect the two will be released at the same time though, yeah.
Also yeah, San’layn keep springing up, so I wonder if they’re saving the two missing blood princes for something big. I predict they are. Tha’lena comes up sometimes too, but I think people still aren’t sure if she’s (a) just a Wrath Easter Egg in Legion or (b) completely dead due to the dungeon stuff.
Though… the fact that they had a Blood Princess locked up there canonically makes me wonder how many more might be out there possibly near-power to Lana’thel. Who knows. I wonder if Violet Hold will have relevancy, as a matter of fact, with all of those bosses at some point. People claim ‘oh just easter eggs’ but you never know.
I highly doubt Classic+ will be a thing at this point.
I can see them doing Cata Classic since a bunch of players probably started in Cata and have nostalgia for it by now. Plus they’d have to do that to get to MoP Classic, and from how I’m always seeing people reminisce about MoP, I’m sure that’d be a hit.
Apparently MoP was balanced really well I think? I dunno, I mostly just played random BGs on my Pally. Would be nice to experience MoP stuff I missed at the time though, like the cape questline.
Wanted to pop in and show support. San’layn would be a really cool addition to the Horde, which has always embraced those that had no other place to fit in.
You can tell a lot of love and effort was put into this thread.
I look at Classic to see Vanilla stuff that either was changed or removed mainly. I do enjoy it at times, though I do think the lack of some QoL stuff (multi-tapping of mobs for example) is annoying.
Also, it seems like some people tend to think all San’layn are totally irredeemably evil and wouldn’t become a playable race because of the actions of a few in-game. And yet…
-Dark Iron Dwarves were originally evil angry Dwarves that liked to blow themselves up before another faction of them joined the Alliance in Cataclysm and become playable in BfA.
-Zandalari Trolls were once bad guys in MoP only to get revamped to not all be bad in BfA and become playable then.
-Worgen were just mindless mooks you beat up for quests before becoming integrated with Gilneans and becoming playable.
-Some of the Mag’har Orc clans were allied with the Iron Horde and now they and their descendants are playable.
-Gilgoblins were once mooks obsessed with treasure and all the depth of a rain drop on concrete before getting revamped into something more complex and interesting with the Kelfin, who are still a good contender for playable race status.
Funny thing, that. If Blizzard ever wanted a specific race playable, they would write whatever is needed to make them playable. Something like San’layn really doesn’t seem too unreasonable, given a lot of potential with their backstory. Not to mention that with Forsaken and Death Knights being playable, I don’t see why San’layn would be an exception.
Not throwing shade at anyone in particular, of course. Just an interesting observation I wanted to point out.
Thanks so much! That definitely made me smile I come off as grumpy sometimes to folks who go out of their way to be rude, but I really appreciate when folks are kind like you. We try our best to propose some really neat things here especially with regard to lore ^^
Oh wow this is a golden observation, I didn’t even think of that, yep. I think this also applies to Death Knights & Demon Hunters, who again were all seen as just baseline evil. There’s no real justification for the ‘they’re all evil’ excuse to not have a race playable when we’ve seen exceptions for every single intelligent race. San’layn are incredibly intelligent, too, we know this since they were tacticians for the Scourge.
Logically speaking, there has to be some, like Death Knights, who branch off and walk their own path, along with wanting nothing to do with the scourge. People call us ‘cringe’ or whatever for enjoying vampires, but meanwhile they play their cartoon avatars in a roleplay game like everyone else here. I don’t understand why people go out of their way to be nasty toward vampire fans. I suspect it’s due to Twilight (a franchise I despise.)
The concept of vampires being beautiful but also incredibly dangerous is a really neat one. It plays on the trapdoor spider & ‘you don’t get what you expect’. This also applies to Vulpera, which people also make fun of all the time. And any other cute/beautiful race. I think it’s REALLY neat that there’s ways to completely shatter expectations. San’layn can be beautiful monsters, and on top of that, monsters with morals if their story is written right.
It’s been done so many times before (Black dragons are a good recent example) so it can be done with them. San’layn aren’t mindless.
Those are the types of people that we want posting here vs the negative ones so like you I welcome them highly.
Also since I haven’t said it for a few I still want San’layn Allied Race for the Horde or San’layn customizations for Blood Elves and the Horde because this point in time I’ll take either.
Also, also, I still want burgundy hair color and red eyes and pink eyes and pink hair color for the Allied Race or customizations.
Edit - lots of hearts I know but oh wells.
