The San’layn do not belong on the horde. During BFA, they were even Malicious towards the Horde and used the Horde’s own troops to bolster their own ranks. They only wanted to join because it would aid their own cause.
Meanwhile the void elves are inherently vampiric, in fact, so is the void. We see this within Shadow Priest abilities and talents such as Vampiric Embrace and San’layn. Red is also a void colour which is extremely evident in Nyalotha.
The Blood Elves actively continue to refer to the San’layn as current members of the scourge and do not see them remotely in a positive light.
Of course, not all San’layn are malicious but the majority presented have shown themselves to be manipulative and having zero good intentions for the Horde.
They do not belong and the Sin’dorei wouldn’t even accept them ALSO because besides hemomancy which is generally also a big taboo magic, they use shadow.
And we know what happened with elves that used taboo magic. Oh yeah, they joined the void elves and the Alliance.
Why void elves can’t ask for void customization & have to ask for yet another Horde request when they got their high elves and their own void theme, I do not know.
As this quote specifies, void elves are not undead, nor do they drink blood, nor are they vampires. They have two themes already, more than enough as Thalassian elves for the Alliance, can look identical to blood elves, and keep asking for more.
Void Elves have too much at this point, it’s gross that they think they are entitled to take and take and take and get and get and get when there’s so many other races that need new stuff.
I’d tell them to go make an Alliance San’layn thread but they’ve tried multiple times and it always dies out because no one supports it really except one person here or there so.
This is very much an assumption. San’layn aren’t a hive mind, we don’t know what orders he had. He doesn’t speak for every single San’layn.
Also, you conveniently left out the fact that the Alliance butchered them in BfA.
Forsaken & Dark Rangers on the Horde use both of those magics, and blood elves have used hemomancy for a long while.
They don’t belong with void elves. They fit with Death Knights & forsaken on the Horde.
Again, void elves have enough and do not need to take yet another theme that belongs on the Horde. You now can look identical to blood elves, and void elves have a second exclusive theme. You don’t need one that belongs on the Horde with the Forsaken when the Alliance historically has not accepted undead.
Blood Elves are High Elves, Void Elves got RPing customization options so they can play dress up and pretend to actually be a High Elf but they aren’t one they are Void Elves which is why they still glow blue, bleed blue and sound weird so yes, they got their dress up options from us so they have more than enough.
Void elves have enough and don’t need any more (aside from things specific to their theme), so they’d better not give undead themes to them. It boggles my mind that void elves can’t even manage to stay in their lane and ask for void specific stuff, but have to ask for something Horde players have been wanting for years.
As for that, they managed to make good guys out of forsaken & DK (which again–aren’t a hive mind. Some forsaken & DK being evil doesn’t mean they’re ALL Evil, given they are a free willed race) so they can do the same for San’layn.
I don’t get why the alliance suddenly thinks they’ll get San’layn because of one of them working on his own free will and alone (which was emphasized in the quest) after butchering them in BfA, but here we are.
Like, legit, void elves are the only ones with TWO themes already, and now you want three, something the Horde has wanted for years? No, that’s ridiculous. You can’t even stick to asking for void themes and void elf specific lore, you have to beg for stuff that should be on the Horde.
Reminder that blood elves also allowed warlocks which use shadow magic. It’s not their main magic, but they still use it. I would imagine this is probably because warlocks have been using shadow since forever while void elves have only existed in the lore for the last few years and they either forgot about warlocks using it or just didn’t say anything about it. In other words, a symptom of later lore development. Nonetheless, though. They could easily add in a tidbit where blood elves were okay with it as long as it remained a small portion or something, in which case San’layn would probably be alright.
You mean when they told the helf fans to go join the horde before being dragged 2 years later to give skin tones to a race thats been alliance lore wise since pre classic?
Like im all for options but lets not rewrite history.
Velfs were such a spiteful “here you can have elves but not the ones you want” move by blizz at the time
Your wants and desires for the San’layn are based on fanon and not on actual fact.
The Horde has received so much in terms of lore and actual development that the Alliance has been starving.
We are not toxic or needy for wanting something. Yall got enough undead.
I do not appreciate the assumption that I am “conveniently leaving out information”.
The San’layn also slaughtered Horde troops. I don’t know about you but that probably wouldn’t be too welcome on either side.
As for the hivemind comment. Are the blood elves a hive mind for listening to their Prince and following him to outland? No. The San’layn listened to Dreven, their BLOODPRINCE, their RULER. And executed as he commanded.
Honestly, at this point I’m done arguing with selfish Alliance players. Blizzard bends over backwards to accommodate their high elf dreams. They then ask for silvermoon, everything else from blood elves, Dark Rangers, San’layn, and more.
They have two themes on one race, the only WoW race that does that currently in terms of being completely different types. Now they want an entire third theme the Horde has been asking for. AFTER Blood Elves have been see using blood magic in several expansions.
It truly boggles my mind how entitled some people are.
Why is this our fault, though? You have your high elves, now it gets old asking for more and more. Again, people could be putting energy into supporting actual void stuff, but they throw a hissy fit over people wanting San’layn on the Horde, something people have been asking for for years.
And why should san’layn fans be punished for that? I wanted helves once myself. But now the alliance has two races in one while belves barely even got a pass. Velves don’t need a third race rolled into them.
If the alliance is so jealous of Horde lore development perhaps they can start begging to be villain batted left and right. I haven’t seen many threads or posts on other media regarding that though, so
Oh nah im a belf player, dont like the velves customisation myself, im still waiting on those kaelthas tattoos from TBC box -.- and we need another pass to be on par w them. Like whats our theme actually? its all over the place, are we edgey or holy?
Just dont get the rivalry happening in this thread
