San’layn/vampyr Elf ALLIED RACE Coagulated Megathread of Ideas{Re-VAMPed} (Part 1)

Another important thing to note.

Depending on what level the next batch of Allied races start at also determines if they get Flying or Ground mounts.

I don’t remember anyone from Kul Tiras besides Jaina and there where only a small handful of quest givers for Zandalari.

This is correct.

There we no actual Kul Tirans of Vrykul Heritage with Jaina but those that also studied in Dalaran or supported the Alliance from Theramore were there from the plain Human Ancestry but that being said we could write it in a way that states we did have members of the Kul Tiran ground forces via Theramore and Jaina there to justify a level 20 DK for them if we really wanted to go that far since they did not exist as a model prior to well now.

Well…

  1. Void Elves didn’t… exist?.. yet, really. The back story is a little sparse in my mind right now, but if I remember, the originals have been “over there” and the new recruits are kind of right now.
  2. Lightforged Draenei… well… that’s probably obvious, yes? Draenei can be Death Knights. Lightforged Draenei are either new Draenei that join (thus not dead), or have been since well before Arthas.
  3. Nightborne were locked away since before Arthas.
  4. Highmountain are kind of… I mean I guess maybe Arthas just never went to the Broken Isles?
  5. Kul’tiras has been closed off since before the plague as far as I know, so there’s no reason they’d accept any grain. They’d also not likely be involved in a way that would have heroes die to be rezzed by him.
  6. Zandalari are in the same boat as above. They’re totally segregated, and that makes them harder to initially infect. You could direct assault them, but the gains are minimal compared to a whole continent.

It’s likely that the islands were left alone just because of strategy. Why bother the Kul’tirans, Zandalari, and Broken Isles races, when they’d be harder to deal with for less reward? They’re not exactly accepting grains from random places, and they’re sources are more closed loops. It’s harder to sneak stuff in, and that makes your job harder.

Continents with trust are easier. Just poison the grains as they go, or poison the origin point, etc. Even if it’s not “easier” to do, it hits a lot more people. It’s just wiser to hit the largest populations first. By the time you failed, you never got around to the people who don’t even really know you’re a thing.

They said allied races wouldnt get hero classes in BFA so if they are added next expansion they could probably get it off the bat.

Yeah that’s entirely fair. You’re right, most current races were not involved in the ordeal. Granted I do hope a new story is made so we get access to the class on at least some ARs at some point but there’s no plans for that anytime soon so I’m not holding my breath.

I mean there were Kul’tirans trying to help evacuate Lordaeron…so its possible, but probably like Pandaren not many exist.

Hope you all have a very bloody Winterveil! :stuck_out_tongue: Think of all the festive hats with some festive hats.

Uh… make sure you… deck the howls with boughs of howly?

I’m very sorry.

Hahaha I love that one. Merry Fangsmas, everyone knows Great Father Winter has a sleigh driven by bats too special for all the good undeads. I got new glasses. But I misplaced them. Again. Oops

Thanks very much! I hope you get what you want as well ^^ I believe that the kind and caring people that want those do deserve it, and I’m glad many are nice to us here. Hehe I’ll likely make a video on that quill of Lana’thel too when the time comes!

Thanks very much for stopping in to say that ^^ Me too, and whatever you’d like as well. I really am grateful for our community here(allied races in general) and hope we all get what we want in the end.

Let’s be real here, the only reason DKs breath and Forsaken eat food is because of game mechanics, not because of lore.

It might have been written into the lore that Forsaken need to eat food(no idea if it has or not), but if it was, it was to cover for the fact that…PCs eating food is an important game mechanic that they can’t just remove, even though it makes sense.

It’s the same reason why Forsaken were reclassified as Humanoids instead of Undead early on in WoW. Because Undead were just straight up immune to a lot of abilities and that made them broken in PvP.

Straight up, the reason is because of the Heritage Armor. Heritage Armor is a reward for leveling up an AR to max level. If those races could be DKs or DHs, you’d be able to start with a huge head start.

Personally, I don’t think this is a good reason to deny those races those classes. I’d rather they just make it so those classes don’t count for the armor, than not let people play those classes at all.

I don’t think it will. Pretty much no race has flying mounts for their racial mounts. Even those added well after flying was introduced.

I’ve said this in regards to High Elves as well, population numbers are irrelevant to what race can or can’t be made into an Allied Race.

If the 12 Blood Elves that got caught in that ritual that Alleria interrupted and turned them into Void Elves can become an Allied Race… that pretty much throws any notion of population numbers being relevant out the window.

Blatant propaganda. I eat food because I love it.

…human flesh is food, right?

Right, exactly. Plus in this case we have no idea the actual population of the San’layn anyhow, and apparently more can be made (though we don’t know any exacts yet.)

I wonder if we’ll get any more information on that end when Lana’thel’s Quill comes out. We got a good chunk of information from the Stormheim questline, (reminder, this jazz right here: https://www.wowhead.com/quest=42641/what-the-bonespeakers-buried Description and Completion) and I plan on asking in the lore QnA more on the vampyr curse and all that. Perhaps where the missing blood princes are as well, because we still have no idea!

Actually, what do you guys think. Are any of these questions good for the lore QnA?

  1. We know that in the Grizzly Hills Questline, two San’layn Blood Princes, Theraldis and Atherann, were seen resurrecting Arugal. However, their location has since been unknown–what have they been up to all of these years?
  2. From Stormheim, we know that the ancient curse afflicting San’layn, then later, the vampirates, could have a very similar origin. Will we find out more information about said curse, and what is its true origin?
  3. During the Alliance War Campaign, we see Shandris very concerned that the San’layn neophytes will become Blood Princes or Blood Princesses. How does a neophyte undergo that process, and is it relatively easy to convert an elf into a vampyr?
  4. During the Alliance War Campaign, we were tasked to kill off some San’layn. Was every single asset in that army on the ship that was eliminated and sunk, or could there be more San’layn soliders hiding somewhere and working with Sylvanas secretly?
  5. There is no indication to the horde player as to the San’layn working with the warchief. The only way we could know is when after we retrieve the body in the war campaign, we go up and see two ships burning–we can find San’layn neophytes channeling a blood orb on a burning ship. Other than going out of our way to do that, why does the horde player know nothing of Blood Prince Dreven or the San’layn working with the Horde in the alliance war campaign?

Also, I find it strange that worgen and the San’layn seem to be… linked due to what Arugal did, and how the San’layn went and ressurected him. You’re welcome worgen Death Knights ^^

I think they are good questions. I don’t know if you should ask all of them though.

Thanks! Oh yes though you’re right, definitely not. I’m just going to have a tough time picking them. I do fancy the missing blood princes one myself though, I feel like that’s the biggest mystery for our little niche here.
