San’layn/vampyr Elf ALLIED RACE Coagulated Megathread of Ideas{Re-VAMPed} (Part 1)

I know that, and clearly don’t want to look boring or stupid either. But they’re not going to give us wings, and they’re not going to make us look exactly like the princes. The Blood Princes have a mixture between a blood elf and night elf model, and Lana’thel is just a blood elf. No one wants a regular blood elf DK look, and everyone agrees that those models are outdated and not accurate. We’ve suggested many ways to look much better and in fact even cooler than the Blood Princes or queen. Wings would be really neat to have but if they didn’t give it to DH, they won’t give them to us.

The reason I said that we won’t be Blood Princes or Queen is strictly lorewise. Those that want San’layn do want to look different, be it bat-like ears, fangs, claws, purely black eyes, purely red eyes, or anything (list is there), but my point is that it won’t interfere with the looks of gear or anything. A San’layn in hunter gear or cloth won’t look any more odd than a worgen in such, or a forsaken in it. Everyone is different in what looks appeal to them for their toons.

Illidan did the same thing a while back. Elves sacrificing others isnt new. And with blood magic they could work in some cool stuff. Personally I do like the night elf sanlayn models in borean tundra. And thinking of the possibility of Sanlayn vampire druid just hypes me up. Druidism based on blood magiv and parasitic life. They may also take insipiration from the druid deathknight deck from hearthstone. And something about blood magic allowing them to use life magic to heal others. Perhaps getting shapeshifting powers from the fallen bat loa consuming its essense or siphoning it to get access to azeroths dream. And for balance elves make good astromancers, there spells could also involve blood moon themes (introducing bloodmoon glyphs for druids). Plenty of fun stuff they can do.

IMO it could be a good redemption storyline for Kael, one that is not about a mastermined fate, but personal accountability and showing up for those that gave everything for him.

Maybe he is raised as San’layn by someone who thinks that, to give him that chance. Someone who thinks the San’layn are in need of Kael, or at least, his figure, to not scatter and die out. It could be very interesting.

Also YES on Sylvanas raising Lyrath dear lord the drama of it would be glorious oh my.

Rilly?

I always thought they looked like slightly warmed dreck. Maybe it was the weird collars, but they looked … not taller, just stretched. Like someone took a Belf model and pulled on the hair too much.

If it does happen, I hope they give serious consideration to the art y’all have posted here. It would make a much better baseline to work from.

thats one of the reasons, but the animations they have, talking, thinking and some other uniques features of them gives them that “royal” charm, something that fits perfectly a vampire… in many vampire games something that i found very annoying, is the fact that they dont have the posture of a vampire, the imposing pose, the confidence, the cordiality…
all of these minor features is something that makes me like a lot the blood princes… another kind of npc that also holds these kind of traits its the dread lords, something that gives to them most of its charisma

TBH they could probably use the Nightfallen model for inspiration.

The San’layn are not going to make him atone for being evil and power mad. That’s, like, their thing.

Unless you mean he has to atone for getting beat so many times. :stuck_out_tongue:

You say that, but, like, every Goblin player is a former Trade-Prince.

yes, a former trade-prince, but even so a trade-prince doesn’t come with physical changes like it appears the Blood Prince/Princess/Queens all have.

wings would be the best racial mount ever, and would totally fit the San’layn theme imo, but at best we’d probably get them as a racial ability like a slow fall since none of the other races/ARs have a flying mount as their racial mount.

I’m not the biggest fan of Nightfallen. Imo San’layn should be their own thing. They’re blood elves, not some new form of night elf. Skeletons maybe but I really don’t want to get only withered. I personally really dislike withered as well.

Nightfallen are the stage between Nightborne and Withered.

And I meant Skeletons.

Fun fact. Did you know withered use the Vrykul skeleton? (Or drugar, but it’s the same one)

Ah ok, they could go many ways with the skeleton yeah. I think the blood princes have the night elf skeleton modified and with blood elf animations. It’s strange but I really love their batty ears. If anything I really want the bat like ears, claws, and fangs. The biggest disappointment would be if there weren’t those modifications.

Also I didn’t know that, neat! I wonder if we’ll get playable Vry’kul ever. It’d be cool if there was like a Northrend AR pack. San’layn, Vry’kul, Taunka, Walrus dudes, and others I’m sure.

Dude…this game doesn’t need more elves, really…

Besides, you are already a blood elf dk (if you are blood spec, then that is almost the exact same thing)

ah, another “no more elves” parrot. also, blood DKs are not vampires, they manipulate blood through their weapon, this has been explained about 40 times

That’s what I said…“almost”

Kindly read the first post about classes and links included before jumping to “but blood elf DK!”. We’ve explained in detail how that’s not the case. If you don’t want to play or support them, that’s fine. But I’ll point out when you’re wrong. And the “too many elves” is your opinion.

That’s like me saying “but night elves are shapeshifters so we don’t need Worgen(werewolves).”

How do you keep your sanity replying to the same lazy arguements over and over?

I could dig playing a San’layn Warlock. :vampire:

Welcome to ever allied race discussion that didn’t make the first draft.

Maybe it’s just the tryptophan talking, but I would have to say Fallynn has done an extraordinary job on keeping the San’layn debate unlike every other allied race debate.

Just barely if at all, trust me! I kinda just repeat what I’ve said like a broken record. I really wish people would just read my first post and realize that we’re not trying to be demanding, and just want to be considered, along with having a place to share ideas. We also want to find other supporters. I don’t know why it’s so hard to read the post, then say, “Well, I still don’t support this.” That would be fine, and I don’t expect everyone to support it. I’d respect their opinion against San’layn though disagree. But when they say either “no more elves” or “they are Death Knights”, I automatically know that the first post wasn’t even looked at, which drives me nuts.

I appreciate this very much, thank you ^^ I try hard to do so and keep the community sound and respectful. As much as I can, anyway!
