San’layn/vampyr Elf ALLIED RACE Coagulated Megathread of Ideas{Re-VAMPed} (Part 1)

they aren’t going to stop allied races while not all current races have a sub, just saying. they may not stop after that either

there are never too many options in an RPG, like it or not. if you don’t want new races, just don’t play them.

I am unaware of any messages from the Developers which supports this statement.

They did say they’re adding more AR’s in QnA, that’s confirmed.

They have never said every race is going to get one.

If they do go the Undead Night Elf and Blood Elf route, I just hope the San’layn are included in some form, perhaps If they come into conflict with Sylvanas and her army, she could give them the choice of defection or death as she is fond of collecting other groups of Undead, especially with the San’layn who are particularly powerful Undead.

There’s always the chance another Blood Prince or Queen coul come along again.

I know, I’m more saying that they did say more were added, people think that due to the current trend, there will be a base-race matchup. That bit wasn’t confirmed, however more ARs has been, I’d have to dig to find the QnA though, so give me a bit to link it

Sorry to be a bit off topic but what they really need to do is ADD new BG’s :ok_hand: We got so many new races, new dungeons, arenas, raids

yet only 1 new BG :disappointed_relieved:

Better that than fox-vermin people.

Does the little ‘share a link to this post’ icon not function?
The chain icon at the bottom of each post, between the like and the flag?

I seriously hope they do not release that as a Race/Class, ANYthing but that - It just seems like it’d be a very immature move on Blizz if they released Vulpera… Just my opinion

Awesome, go start a thread detailing what you’d like to see for new battlegrounds and start getting support. That’s what we’re doing her for the Allied Races we want to see. Therefore, since that’s a topic you care about, I really do recommend doing research and talking about what you want to see in a BG, because they take detailed player feedback!

Right? And not to mention, we have no idea where Dreven came from. I’m predicting one of the missing blood princes did it, but there very well could be a new Blood King/Queen. I wonder who it would be, if not someone entirely new. I really hope we see the missing peeps soon though myself, that lore is fun.

i guess PvP islands were their idea of new “bg” content, horrible lol
also with the fact that they removed some BGs as well…

i’d like to see a new BG as well, maybe one to replace Strands

but yeah back on topic lol

Oh, you’re right! I’m so used to it being in the upper right, I completely forgot about the little link symbol. You’re a lifesaver, sorry for the misinformation there and thank you for correcting me!

I think clicking on the upper right ‘how long ago you posted it number’ also creates a link to the post.

Indeed. And his title was Blood Prince, if he were the end all be all, I’m fairly certain that he wouldn’t be modest enough to use that title in lieu of Blood King. I’m sure there’s a higher allegiance out there as we also have a random Blood Princess appear out of nowhere in Legion.

To be completely honest, I feel like the reason San’layn aren’t receiving as much prominence as we’d like, namely being playable is that maybe they want to build up development as well as the myriad of other problems we’re facing with this expansion.

Between the general dissatisfaction with the expansion and the massive backlash they received from Void Elves/High Elves, maybe they’re just being more cautious.

But yes, I look forward to more San’layn popping up as their presence has actually increased fairly well in this expansion in comparison to even the last. As with other ARs, I’m not ready to give up hope just yet.

I think it would be funny if when we finally found who is now leading the San’layn it was Kael’thas that the San’layn raised after they were freed from the Lich King.

Blood King Kael’thas kinda has a nice ring to it.

That would be pretty rad, Kael’thas was my favorite character in WC3, but he got done dirty in BC. At least Quinton Flynn killed it with the voice acting.

If they can make an excuse for Illidan to come back thou, I don’t see why they couldn’t do the same with an undead Kael’thas… besides his head being chopped off. It would be amazing if he came back with a detachable flying head like the headless horseman lol.

A toy that turns you into a Dark Ranger for ten minutes with a very long cool down isn’t the same as actually playing as one though. It doesn’t replace them and it also doesn’t necessarily rule them out either as there are toys (orb of the sin’dorei) that allow you to transform into other races. Like the quil, it might be a hint for the future (though probably as a class).

Perhaps his body could be restored if Kael comes back. They’d need to somehow get the head (which by now would likely be a skull) and figure out a ritual.

I personally want to see one of the missing blood princes as Blood King, or if they bring someone back, do it with Lana’thel.

I disagree on this on principle TBH. Like I think a game about faction War would be A LOT more interesting if we actually had a choice about the side we chose instead of being forced on either by race.

More so, I don’t think that means a faction’s identity has to be lost, only more defined by their ideologies rather than racial aesthetics. And considering that examples like “lightforged undead” already come with a VERY different aesthteic and ideology, I can’t really see a lot of uniqueness being lost thematically.

And even so, there could be many other interesting ways of making different groups aesthetically and thematically different even if they can be considered the same race. First of all using modified stances, so the model itself will not be the same, and add any other thematic/ideological/aesthetic difference to that.
