San’layn/vampyr Elf ALLIED RACE Coagulated Megathread of Ideas{Re-VAMPed} (Part 1)

But again, you can choose to not be part of a conversation you deem repetitive.
And once again, I would ask you to actually read something, at this point anything, that I have actually posted in this thread. You really seem to be putting effort into trying to start a fight.

I support the dialogue. I support the conversation. I find it laudable that Fallynn has put so much work into keeping the tone of this thread positive and reduce spammy threads on the subject at the same time.

However, this does not change my opinion of the Allied Races as Blizzard has presented them. I still strongly feel that Blizzard fumbled the manner in which they are presented and they do nothing to police the train-wreck it has made of the forums.

The entire concept of Allied races was presented to the fan-base poorly and advertised as a feature of the BfA expansion in a somewhat misleading fashion.

But I can support an individual community for rising above the animosity and bickering that most of the Allied Races fans present for themselves while still not liking the concept of Allied Races in general.

I'm sure we can brainstorm based on the new styles based on that Lana'thel's quill! That style is great and can inspire new ideas. Also called it, we knew San'layn had heavy bat-like themes.

IMO I am a big fan of giving Allied Races their unique stance like Nightborne do, so I would really like to do an edit of the BE model with the stance the Blood Princes have, but then I wonder what I could do with the female model!

I am not trying to start a fight, but again, whatever issues you have about the conversations regarding Allied Races are your own, and you just come across as just being mad at people talking about Allied Races in a way you personally do not deem appropriate, and that is what rubbing me the wrong way about what you are saying.

Allied Races is like the only thing we got to talk about expanded customization and as a system also a lot of people see a lot more potential than you do, so to broad stroke it as a "bad system" is matter of your opinion, not fact, and not a consensus.
San'layn can be multiple classes. We've seen that in Enh'kila and ICC. Also I think people are joking with twilight elves unless they're talking Cata because no one takes Twilight seriously.

i mean... you are correct, but that doesnt matter much
its like you get to play as an orc for example, but warrior is not avaiable to him or that class simple doesnt exist in the game.... does make any sense as a orc? no
so san'layn without any true BLOOD class, to me at least, give the same feeling

And here my Sweet punch line for this thread: Good luck playing twilight elfs

MAHAHHAHAHAH ULTIMATE DESPAIR MODE!!!!
we are here to advocate for San'layn. they do not sparkle in the sunlight and they most certainly do not live off of animal blood. if anything the High Elves would be more akin to Twilight since they decided to not follow the norm of their society (blood elves feasting on the mana of living creatures) and decided to only get their mana fix by sucking on arcane crystals provided by the kirin tor.

I wouldn't waste my breath on that guy, he doesn't exactly have a precedent for being mature or reasonable.

Y'all will get more trolls I suspect. Everyone wants to be a tool right before the forums migrate.

If all of our trolls are like him then we have nothing to worry about.

I suppose I don't run into that problem myself because I don't really think like that, I regard the race itself as covering the fantasy, not the class. But I get what you're saying. Supposing the racials would properly encompass the vampire fantasy peeps want, would that make up for it a bit? Along with proper lore of course. I dunno, I see vampires as having many skills with their survival on blood and expertise on blood magic but otherwise are a race and not a class.

Maybe in the future, mages could have a blood spec which would be really neat.

IMO if there is an Allied Race that SHOULD be DK is San'layn. They were raised by the same individual that made the DK's on the first place, at around the same time.

Funny thing, I play my DK San'layn on Frost rather than Blood Spec :D

But yeah, not even the lack of DK would be a game changer. You can encompass the Vampirism on their racials, not their class choices. Void Elves thematically feel far more limited and all they really got is one Shadow spec, while San'layn have been shown to be multiple classes.

Maybe all they would need would be a "blood" glyph for mages/priest/warlocks?

Man I wish they would. I think a mage blood glyph would be a perfect thing, like greenfire for locks, but this time it would be blood for mages!

blood mages from WQ3 are pretty much WoW's Fire Mage. only thing we were (and currently are) missing are the flame orbs (though locks have them as Verdant Orbs via a glyph i think) and the Phoenix.
