my only fear is the regular undead elfs...

There's no reason that if they do go with Undead Elves that they can't add San'layn themes and abilities.

The Allied Races's racials seem to just be a grab bag of things related to the race anyway.

Think "Bite of the San'layn" or something like that.

Still I would be massively disappointed that San'layn are not the main theme for the race.

If blizzard add regular undead elfs as an allied race, the possibility of san'layn showing up on the future is almost impossible... if right now people do have this "enough elf" fatigue for allied races, if we get an undead elf and later only the possibility of another undead elf people would get crazy on the foruns...
We need to continue to share our ideas and compassion while being respectful. We might be disappointed at the lack of news, but until we're told no, we will continue to be a positive community and try and keep this thread progressive in terms of ideas.

That bat-wing styled quill for the new Blood contracts, Lana'thel's quill, might be a good sign for us. What could the questline possibly include? Do you think we'll finally see one of the missing blood princes? I hope it doesn't end up with whoever it is, should it be a San'layn, slain.
apparently, blizzard is observing, they dont want to reveal what they are holding for later, it this a good sign of why they dont want to answer? because they want to release it? or are they watching what the player wants the most.
High elves are the most requested, however blizzard already said no about it, after high elves the race with the longest mega thread is us the san'layn...vulpera and sethraks after it.
I believe we must continue to grow this megathread so blizzard can end up giving san'layn to us, believing that we really want this race more than the others, and its worth the effort.
Lets not give up, there´s still hope!

Yes, they also re-deconfirmed the High Elves for BfA at Blizzcon. A fan had told them about the community and Ion said "Yeah not for BfA but that does not mean never". So that does rule them out entirely of BfA regardless.

Vulpera were not in fact deconfirmed but asked about in the WoWhead interview, where they were not rejected. This is great considering I love their community and want to play a Vulpera as well. But while High Elves were asked for and declined twice (for BfA specifically), Vulpera were specifically asked for twice now (in a QnA a while ago and then again in that wowhead interview tonight) and yet not declined at all. Therefore, they might not be ready to be announced if they are indeed planned, and I think that's a good sign for that community, which makes me thrilled.

Now, where does that leave us. Well, we have not been asked about at all (I don't think we have a big enough community sadly) but have not been shot down either, despite being here a while and the huge bit of spam that came out when the San'layn text for 'joining the Horde' was released, along with Dreven being discovered.

Well... we're in the same spot as before, and leaning toward a good thing, due to that quill, I believe. Again, I don't know if it means anything or is relevant to progression for ARs specifically. But... there's quests related to it. We could learn more about vampyr lore.

Also, if they indeed are watching, I do want to tell Blizzard one thing. That quill design is simply amazing. (Sanguine Feather Quill of Lana'thel, of course!) It is beautiful, and while it's just a small thing, it's important to us. Well, to me anyway. I can't speak for everyone. I'll go into specifics about what I love:

--> The slightly torn but clearly bat wings. Tipped with blood, too? That's honestly brilliant. The coloration on this object is excellent.

-->That deep red color is great and works well with the green gem, makes a good combination for the San'layn and feels like a homage to their sigil.

-->The pen's tip is glowing red, which makes it seems like it'd write in blood (The siphoning blood of course has this effect make a lot of sense.)

-->What I like about it the most, though, is the bat wing design for it clearly. I like how bats are now starting to be emphasized for San'layn. I know Lana'thel might have just been an 'inspiration' to the creator, but this object still resonates with San'layn lovers like myself. If Blizzard is in fact looking into expanding San'layn style and lore, this little tidbit is a wonderful step and a wonderful sign that I am excited about. Might be just a small thing, but it is great anyway.

No, I'm saying if they do add regular Undead Elves that they could have San'layn be a part of them.
i have a question... why the other megathreads are, ONE big megathread, and us are divided in parts?

We haven't got an extension in a while unfortunately and others might not track the amount of threads they have had is my only guess x.x
Bumparooni!

Also, did you guys read the interview with Ion and the other guy (can't remember his name) on Wowhead?
What would be the hunter pet? I am guessing a bat.

Either a bat or plaguehound could work and have been suggested!

Yeah I saw the interview, there's a lot said about AR with no reveal. We just have to keep being productive and respectful.

Bloodhound.

*Ba-Dum-Tish*

But given the Darkiron pet, they could literally make something up.
I honestly thing that bloodbeast could be a passive for San'layn, like mechas for gnomes and goblins. Come to think of it... do Zandalari automatically get to tame dinosaurs...? Has that been asked? Shouldn't it be a thing? Haha!

But yes, they could come up with anything. Perhaps a darkhound but this time with blood markings and spatters all over it.

Haven't quite said no to them (High Elves). At the moment it is 'anything can happen' and 'we are having lots of discussions about it' - that's from two different dev interviews.

San'layn for the Horde would be neat btw. A lot of the jokes and other small details shown on other pages look really neat.

they straight up said "no" to them last year at blizzcon. at best they will probably get a white skin tone for void elves. but this isn't a HE thread so whatevs

that'd be cool
According to the High Elf Discord:

This means that there is still a chance for those that want them I assume but not in BfA. Hopefully this helps. Granted yeah that's just something to be discussed in that thread but I wanted bring up to avoid arguments.

For BfA specifically however San'layn have neither been acknowledged as having any chance or rejected. Who knows. Our community might not be big enough to get a response yet. But all is not lost.

i mean, yeah, san'layn may not be the most popular requested races when we go to the foruns.
However we do have the most long megathread asking for them, thats doesnt count? High elves are the only requested race in front of us, but i dont like to count them since they already will not be in bfa.
In my honest opinion, the biggest disavantage we have compared to the other races is.... san'layn didnt showed up for the horde at any point, they were hidden in books, and their only appearence in game is within the ALLIANCE point of view... there is many horde players that dont even know about the san'layn alliance with sylvanas
in my search i found one, JUST ONE.. but i found san'layn for the horde perspective
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkUjKoP4J1M
its so hidden that i believe me and everyone else didnt even noticed them on the ship... and i have the feeling these same san'layn (by a historic perspective) is the same san'layn the alliance kills along the blood prince draven... and i really hope im wrong about it, since, if it is true, then this is a not good thing
Nine parts? Almost ready for ten? Y'all deserve an extended thread.
