Samurai Class

As the 4th plate wearing class? What specs would there be?

Prob a melee 2 handed tank and DPS are a given.

Perhaps also a ranged weapon spec. Hell, maybe even a 4th spec for dual wielding or caster? Depending on the lore.

Lore: perhaps pandaren monks and the warriors of azeroth come together to create a new class by combining their skills.Similar to the silver hand born From priests n warriors.

Possible named abilities: blossom strike, honor strike, focus strike, rapid strikes

Races: all of them of course

I see them as mail wearers.

I think they could go either way.

I’ve seen some pretty plate like samurai armor

It’s just a different style

It’s a shame that Japanese culture doesn’t exist in WoW. All the potential mounts and mogs that could bring into the game is insane.

I had humored Bunny Island could be Japanese themed, probably a great place to include a samurai class. :world_map::robot:

Aren’t the mogu based off Japan? They sound like angry samurai when they talk

Also I think night elf architecture is based off Japan too

They could, but id prefer for the 4th mail class to be saved for Tinkers

Um. This is a mogwai

Somewhat correct… Mogwai are spirits in Chinese but Americans considered the Gremlins foreign creatures ruining equipment and then the movie mixed the two. :world_map::robot:

so you want a samurai with a bow?

I would guess Chinese, Mogu is a Chinese painting style. Also Lei Shen, the previous ruler that formed the empire, is a chinese name.

from bing:

  1. Chinese Mythology:
  • In Chinese mythology, Lei Gong, also known as Lei Shen (é›·ē„ž) or Lei Shi (é›·åøˆ), is the God of Thunder and Heaven’s executioner. Lei Gong is associated with thunderstorms and lightning. [His name reflects his role as a powerful deity controlling the forces of nature
  1. Chinese Folk Religion and Taoism:
  • In Chinese folk religion and Taoism, Leigong (雷公) or Leishen (é›·ē„ž) is the god of thunder. He is revered and invoked for protection against thunderstorms and lightning. [His name is often invoked during inclement weather to seek safety and ward off harm

having a mail armor designation is just preemptively consigning yourself to the bin

Thigh guards and calf guards use a combination of chain mail (armor made of small metal rings) and plates kept the lower body safe. Underneath the armor, the samurai would wear a one-piece baggy garment, a kimono (T-shaped, wrapped-front clothing) on top of that and loose pants.

they would be the first plate armor but its tagged mail

That makes perfect sense compared to my thoughts they were Mogwai. Even when we consider the terracotta army. :robot::+1:

Actually looked up Pandas also and pandas are native to china only. Japanese pandas are only in zoos from what bing said.

Pandaren and Pandaria are reflections of Chinese culture. If we’re going to get a Samurai Class, which I would roll in a heartbeat, it would likely take Blizzard introducing us to a Japanese equivalent culture on Azeroth.
