Hi guys, I was looking into getting the Salty title . I was wondering if all achievements need to be completed on one character or if they can be done across your toons. I just tested one achievement out, The Fishing Diplomat.
I have most of my achievements on my main, but flew my alliance dh to orgrimmar to fish up for the Fishing Diplomat. Got the achievement, logged back onto my horde main and it looks as though it counts towards my overall progress to the Salty title. I am asking for a definitive answer please, i dont want to waste my time attempting this across toons, thanks!
Account-wide achievements have a blue tint to their name in the achievements panel. For these achievements, each individual step listed in the achievement can be done on different characters. Accomplished Angler is an account-wide achievement, so you can do the steps on different characters. (And if one of the criteria of an achievement is itself an account-wide achievement, that particular step can be done on multiple characters.)
There are the occasional “traps” with account wide stuff. One example is that some of the draenor pathfinder criteria were acount-wide, but there were issues splitting it between horde and alliance toons due to the different starting zones. (That one may have been fixed, I’m not sure.) Another one that comes to mind is the questing achievements for BfA. While technically, you can get credit for the different zones on different characters, the final chapter only becomes available to do on a character once they’ve done all three zones’ main storyline quests. As far as I’m aware, Accomplished Angler doesn’t have any of those traps.
