Saberon as a potential Allied Race

The whole point of saberon is that they came with the mag’har during the recruitment scenario, are already in azeroth hiding somewhere in kalimdor (unless they took a boat to EK or something). I think they should be found by the nelves in ashenvale and be took under their proverbial wing. Blanduin would whine but accept after a baine back rub.

I just want cute lion people…

Or sneps. I’ll take floofy, friendly sneps.

Could reverse that order which is nice.

It’d take a lot to make the arrakoa join either faction. They’re very independant and very proud. Why would the cursed arrakoa join the Alliance over the Horde? Why vice versa with the uncursed?

The uncursed arakoa are one of the most proud races in the game, and they’re not uncivilized either. By many accounts they’re more advanced than almost every race on Azeroth.

Best I can think of is us going back to AU Draenor, and since the Lightbound would’ve been no friends of that shadow magic the cursed arrakoa practiced, they might join the Horde since the Alliance has both draenei and lightforged draenei. I’m not a huge fan of that logic though.

(Observation): The Draenei had (until X’era’s arrival and turning Yrel into a zealot) attempted to live in harmony with the other races on Draenor, trying to avoid conflict and aggression. That might’ve changed, honestly. I’d even go so far as to say likely, but considering the Botani and Saberon ran away from the Mag’har once on Azeroth, it doesn’t seem like the Orcs did any better.

(Speculative): I’ve seen the suggestion elsewhere, and I do like it so I’ll repeat it here. If playable Saberon turn out to be a race that was founded by Leorajh spreading enlightenment to other Saberon, and then whom allied with the Draenei to understand civilization better and how to build their own, then they’d be ideal for the Alliance. They’d lose the heavy tribal theme, but probably not to the point it’d be completely gone. At that point they’d fit in like a glove with the likes of the Night Elves or Wildhammer Dwarves.

(Observation): They seem to be in Night Elf territory if the direction in which they fled from the Horde is any indication.

(Commentary): Personally, I think the Night Elves could use every ally they could get right now, and if the Saberon end up falling under the patronage of a Wild God that the Night Elves know, then the deal is more or less sealed.

There’s some precedence with the Zandalari, who are also very advanced. They’re allied to the Horde and thus playable Horde characters but Queen Talanji is not a part of the Horde Council and considers her empire an independent power.

The Zandalari are not as advanced as the arrakoa. The uncursed are around where blood elves, goblins, high elves, gnomes, and mechagnomes are at. They have machines animated with magic.

Edit: Maybe not goblins/gnomes. But certainly the elves.

Ashamane.

One should never underestimate the (literal) power of a Tauren back-rub.

I mean the blood elves have arcane constructs all over the place too.

Araknath isn’t too far off from that.

Why is this thread still going?

Ion already said in the Q&A didn’t know new races are planned for now or during shadowlands

You have dogs, we get cats, its only fair.

Fair point, I haven’t had my coffee. I just knee jerked because it felt like you were arguing that Arakkoa could never be playable and

I’ve wanted birdies since Burning Crusade, if I could be an Arakkoa I’d never race change again.

Female saberons is more possible then a female ogres.

But this is AU Draenor, this can be change. And it’s not like Blizz have any other use for Ferahlon, since that story and area was dropped.

The one in BfA, that drove the Mag’har from Draenor to join the Horde in Azeroth.

Lol, I get it. I’d like them too aswell. They just don’t make much sense in the current lore climate. They’re cool, I’ll give you that. My quote there might’ve seemed a bit snarky. sorry if so.

That’s how I feel about sethrak for Horde, I’d kill to have them.

I know, I’m talking about AU Draenor. Faralohn was planned and scrapped for AU Draenor, and what was created had Iron Horde structures on it.

Why?

The Lightbound one then.

Probably because they would just use the female worgen frame, like the males use the male worgen frame :woman_shrugging:

No they get dogs and cats, we get simi-giants and vampires.
