While i main a Demo lock (i only play demo cause thats just me) I cant help but very underwhelmed by the set bonus that have come out for S3… Diaboist is just… a flat int gain that doesn’t feel (or sound) great to me just kind of meh while Soul harvest feels like it wouldn’t even work well with demo what so ever. what’s y’alls thoughts what you like to have seen?
Diabloist also gets the on HOG cast aoe damage.
Hellcaller generates shards for free which is always good for demo because it reduces the need to implode for demonic cores and allows more dps from fel bolt by imps.
I think they will need testing before we can determine if they are good or not but I think your description of them was rather over simplified.
could be right could be wrong but my initial impressions of them are well they feel very plain no flavor to them, a main stat boost feels like the kind of thing id expect from a start of the expansion tier set not a “final set”
I’ve been underwhelmed by all the Warlock tier sets this expansion to be honest.
I hate when affliction tiers just grant us procs of passives we have. They do it all the time and it’s so boring. Nobody is excited about extra instant MR procs.
I like Soul Harvester’s tier set a lot. Diabolist’s is underwhelming. Hellcaller’s is useful but also underwhelming visually.
The Int buff stacks up to 6%, it’s fairly powerful, but it’s definitely boring. The actual fun part of that set is the little eye buggers it summons, they actually pump.
they really need to reword that then it implies that its only a 2% int buff, besides its still not a “fun” proc for the 4pc quite lackluster in what it is the eyes are ok but should have been something more exciting for a final teir set of an expac other then an int buff, I also have a weird thought that it might be a placeholder but im not holding my breath
OK played around a bit on the PTR and my impression of the Diabolist set… It feels clunky granted i have not fought “Bosses” but it just felt off trying to get that 3rd occuli (this was in Heroics and open world) when you would be at 2 between pulls and then trigger right away
Realistically Diabolist tier set doesn’t even really feel like it ties in to the rest of the hero talent tree. Blizzard basically just said, “Give them 3 more demons to summon and that’s good enough.”
A better tier set would have read something like:
2pc set: Rain of Fire and Chaos Bolt/Hand of Gul’dan stores up to 25%/50% of its damage done. Consuming Demonic Art causes Diabolist demons to consume the stored damage to increase the damage of their attack.
4pc set: Infernal Bolt and Ruination now deal damage to enemies within 10 yards. Casting either spell now increases the damage you (Destruction)/your (Demonology) demons do by 25% for 10 seconds.
Tada. I just created an off the cuff tier set bonus that can now compete with Hellcaller in AoE while also improving its single target and isn’t as boring as summoning three bland “eyes” that explode and increase intellect by a measly 6%.
