Is it me, or does the advancement speed of S2 seem considerably slower than S1. In S1 you could get weathered crests by just flying around, even at the beginning. Almost every WQ offered them as a reward. When S2 started it felt like things were quite a bit slower than that.
Now, I think I know why they did it. So they could call this delayed thing they are making us wait 3 weeks after the patch for a “turbo boost”.
I feel like I walked into a department store and saw everything on sale for 50% OFF! only to notice that the prices had been marked up 40% before the sale.

I had no issue getting capped on crests the first week or two of this tier.
Not sure how that relates to the main question. Are you saying that in S1 you DID have an issue? Because the question is, does this season’s progression seem slower than last.
Not from my perspective. Seems to me like S2 progression has been much, much faster.

You must be doing something other than delves then. Not surprising that they would be left in the dust. With the way they have been pushing people out of them and into M+/raid it seems like they WANT them to be worse.
Do people use weathered crests beyond valor dumping on an new alt?
I use them to upgrade to the next level. They aren’t worth much, but last season, if you picked them off as you flew around, they would often make the difference between getting a runed crest upgrade or doing another run.
As I said, they were not worth a lot, but the devs seem to have decided they were TOO good, so now all you get from world soul motes are… resonance crystals? Who needs THOSE?
That’s not true, I don’t know all the stuff you get but flying through them last night was giving me valor
I think this seasons progression is significantly faster.
This isn’t necessarily a ‘hack’ but especially if you’re a predominatly delve player, it may be worth saving up your weekly gilded and going straight for the mythic craft rather than make it on heroic and then mythic. Each would save you about 45 Runed crests.
The only solo player QoL is that doing all objectives even on a non-bountiful T11 gives a respectable amount of runed crests, especially for how fast you can get them down.
Sigh Okay. TECHNICALLY you will get a valor stone, on occasion. (seems to be 1 in 3 to 1 in 5) But I have never gotten anything but a crystal, and MAYBE a stone. And I have collected a lot of them.
Yeah, well. I have yet to do a T11. I can’t focus on a single character to the point where I can gear one up that fast. I get bored running the same guy, doing the same content over and over. If I had to run 8 delves with the same guy each week I would probably get bored enough to stop playing.
I have made it to T10s on several. Mostly pet class characters. My mages are still stuck on T9. I could probably push it harder than I do. But if I die even once it kind of ruins the run for me.
I intend to tradeup a lot of them when the cap on crests is removed.
Now you can get more Runed Crests and up to 31 Gilded Crests each week by doing T11 delves. It’s much faster in general compared to having to hunt orbs until you had enough to trade up.
It may be faster once you’re there. But to those of us not yet there, getting to a T11 sure seems slower.
Not yet there? T11s aren’t that hard, I’ve been doing my three a week since the start of the season.
Don’t know what to tell you. I guess I just suck, and I’m fine with that. I’m also pretty cautious about dying. A single death in a delve, for me, kind of ruins the run for me.
I also kind of have a limit on how long the boss fights can be before I get tired of doing the same thing over and over again. It is fun up to a point, but then it becomes more of a chore. Without the Pacifist Rig to shorten thing I don’t think I would have gotten as far as I have.
This season has been far faster to gear than S1 was as someone who plays a bunch of alts I have no problem getting past the need for weathered crests , typically don’t even bother using the ones I have half of the time because gearing up to champion / hero is fast enough to not need upgrading veteran gear.
