Hi all, I’m thinking of a budget gaming PC for the wife to quest on, and I’m thinking of between two CPU/GPU options from AMD Ryzen.
Ryzen 5 5625u (6C / 12T)
or
Ryzen 7 5800u (8C / 16T)
Either would be with 512SSD and 16GB DDR4 RAM.
Which would you recommend?

The Ryzen 7. If you can, get the 5800X3D instead.

OP you really DONT want to use intergraded graphics with WoW. Just dont do it. Get an dedicated GPU. Maybe the new RX 7600?
This person is 100% right. No better option on AM4 for a Gamer. Its hands down will blow everything else on AM4 out of the water. WoW drinks up game cache like water in the desert! The 5800x3D is a 100% must
Save money else where on your build. Get the CPU that matters along with a 3600 CL16 Ram kit
You said gaming PC but the CPU’s you said are for laptops.
You want a good cpu and a dedicated GPU. Like a rtx 3050 or higher

as the other poster noted, the 2 chips you mentioned are laptop chips.
I would say get the AM5 stuff for longetivity, but if price is a concern then the AM4 will work also… just that you will probably pay more when the upgrade itch comes again.
or you can just get her a laptop…
