You didn’t answer my question.
I did?
Or do you want me to say it in a different way?
I doubted the leaks you posted, which (drum roll) turned out to be wrong! I’d post them but you have your post history hidden. Really shows how much integrity you have.
Didn’t happen more than two or three times, but, as made abundantly clear in this thread, I was actually right! I mean, you upgraded your 1st gen Ryzen already, didn’t you? How much have you spent on AMD CPUs in the last few years to still get less WoW and gaming performance than the 8700k I bought over 2.5 years ago? That 1800x was a great investment! So was your new mobo and 2700x that you “upgraded” to about a year later!
Outside of your AMD fetish, your conflict of interest (owning AMD stock), your obsession with Twitter and Reddit leaks, and your pathological need to share anything you think is an AMD win on these boards (many of which aren’t even wins, as shown in this thread), the reality is I’ve recommended Zen 2 CPUs repeatedly here and elsewhere and even put together multiple R5 builds for friends (one with a 3600 and one with a 3600x) who I play WoW with. But for myself, moving to an AMD chip for my uses would be a downgrade.
Bottom line for me when it comes to CPU recommendations/purchases is that it’s about what someone is willing or wants to spend, what they’re looking to use their computer for, how often they want to upgrade other components, and how much knowledge and willingness they have to troubleshoot their PC. When someone comes on here asking for a WoW build, that’s what I’m going to help them with. I don’t care if the box is blue or red.
I do, however, get a kick out of trashing and watching others trash your threads.
Not really. You’ve told too many fibs on here to play the old forums card.
You’re trying to knock Griefs for something you’re 100% guilty of when you couldn’t even recommend Intel over that FX chip you ran.
So I guess there’s no 3950XT because the 3950X is already binned pretty well? Or are they just holding out to have something more to release between now and 4xxx release?
Don’t act like you’re innocent either you also deleted posts whenever you were proven wrong such as that fan curve
As long if the red box is blue in the inside sure!
Still angry over that I decided to have a 2nd PC for a server? If I was really spending back to back I’d have a 3950x right now but I don’t, you’d never would believe it though
And the last time you did that, other lurkers didn’t like that so really who’s getting a real kick?
You mean when I ran it 6 years ago and even told people “while I may have this it’s not recommended” even before ryzen existed?
Looks like AMD is taking some of the cores that would normally be reserved as the “good” ones In a 3950X and putting them in the lower tier chips while raising prices from where they currently are and ditching the included coolers for 2/3 of the news SKUs
Its a shame. The stock cooler that comes is actually pretty beefy and it sells for $25-35 to people so you recover a good chunk.
Those wraith coolers weren’t all that great anyway. The look cool and are a step up from the dumb Intel coolers that haven’t changed since the stone age but even a low-to-mid-tier aftermarket air cooler will perform better.
Right then
So unless I say it the way you prefer it didn’t happen
I’d love to provide I recommended it but the old forums are gone
Agreed. It looks a lot like a cash grab, similar In some ways to the 9900KS
I don’t doubt this, but the point is that people who buy the XT SKUs are paying more for the slightest of clock increases and aren’t even getting the cooler that was factored into the price of the non-T variants
But all is well if someone buys a 10900k because it doesn’t come with a stock cooler, what?
what argument are you making with this.
It is known that you have to factor in cooling for most of intel’s chips ontop of having to spend money on the Z variant motherboard.
No one said Intel is the cheaper route.
Buys $500 Intel chip
“Factor the price in Intel chips because pay more”
Buys $500 ryzen chip but doesn’t come with a cooler this time
“Oh no you have to spend more now”
Its on the old forums. Okay I’m just having fun at this point.
I’ve had at least as many if not more AMD CPUs than Intel tbh* **
Intel:
Pentium III 450Mhz
Core 2 Duo E6600
Core 2 Quad Q9450
i5-4570
i7-8700k
AMD:
Athlon 1000mhz
Athlon XP 2400+
Athlon 64 3000+
Phenom IIx4 965 BE
FX-6300
Ryzen 5 1600
*Excluding laptops, which I think is fair since Intel has for the most part historically dominated this segment until recently
**Only counting my personal self-build systems, not the ones I’ve made for my wife and kids in my houshold or the OEMs my mom bought us as kids.
Clearly, I am biased towards Intel
Difference between you and others Is you actually help people with both problems on AMD or Intel whenever they came up which is why I never had any issues with you nor did aribeth
(And if I had I apologise for that)
Yes, I don’t recall Intel being the cheaper alternative.
AMD gave stock coolers that were decent and then suddenly they took it away hence driving up the cost. Their stock coolers were good enough especially since you can’t really push Zen2 too much higher.
With AMD releasing the XT variation, just seems like they’re doing what Intel did. Not blaming them since this is a rather good business move especially since people will buy it regardless.
If you were buying 3950x or in this case a 3900xt
You weren’t saving an extra $30 on a cooler
OP in a nutshell:
Lurks on Reddit/Twitter throughout the day for any news that he thinks looks good for AMD or bad for Intel --> posts a good chunk of what he finds here as new threads with hyperbolic and biased titles --> gets shot down by multiple members of the community --> proceeds to defend himself by: a) pointing to years-old threads with discussions no longer relevant to the current computer hardware landscape; b) creating strawman arguments; c) engaging in whataboutism; and/or d) accusing others of doing things he has done repeatedly
Cycle repeats.
