Ryzen™ 7000 Series Processor with AMD 3D V-Cache™ Technology Pricing and Availability

Just remember to take everything with a grain of salt until the actual reviews come out on February 28th.

Yeah, these are first party benchmarks so we’ll have to see.

I’m inclined to believe them for the most part, though, given the improvement the 5800X3D had over the 5800X.

those are AMD cherry picked games so I would expect the overall difference closer once the CPUs go through independent game review testing suites

My thought process exactly. With that said I’m a 4K OLED gamer. So pretty much any modern CPU will do and GPU choice is what’s going to control my gaming experience. Anything under 4K of course CPU choice matters a lot more

There are some things I’ll consider as “cherry on top” points that would cause me to choose one over the other.

For example, Intel is bringing back some domestic fabrication, which I think is really important. That, combined with my experience with them over the past 20 years or so is enough to warrant choosing it over another alternative if the performance differences aren’t too big.

Not sure if that’s “fanboyism” though.

100%, out of curiosity which monitor do you have?

No I would call that more brand familiarity/comfort

Being a fanboy/fangirl pretty much means you pick that side regardless of what the other side is doing and don’t even look at the reviews you side with one side just because you’re a fan of that side.

Being this way does nothing but hurt consumers in the long run because you want both sides to almost have an equal product because at that point the only thing left to get competitive over is the price. When companies compete for the price us consumers win

The 42" LG C2 which is apparently what most people are using for OLED gaming. I mean when you talk Price to Performance no one else has anything that compares

Also, CPU performance becomes less once you go higher resolution.

Planning to get C2 48" for bedroom too. I think C3 is coming.

Hope you have a deep computer desk. I started with the LG 48" Ultragear 4k Monitor (48GQ900-B). Downgraded to the 42" C2. The 48" was a night and day difference in size. It was WAY to big for my desk. Gave me eye strain

I can’t imagine going pass a 34inch ultra wide. Even that requires it to be curved for me.

30inch deep desk on my end

That is expected. I’m prepared for it.

Depends on the game, scene in game etc.
In 40 vs 40 engagements in epic bgs your CPU and GPU both need to be top tier for the few minutes 2 teams engage in battle. Afterwards it could just be ‘back to normal’ scenario.

World boss just after reset is another example.

Reviews are out, and it’s a hit.

EXCEPT - wait for the 7800X3D. HUB simulated a 7800X3D by shutting off one of the CCDs and performance was topping the charts.

Take special attention to Factorio data.
