Whats minimum for 1440
It doesn’t really work like that.
Can it display 1440p? Yes, easily.
It can run 2 4K displays and a 1440p display at one time.
Can it GAME at 1440p?
Sure, if you dont mind turning the detail down. 1440p Ultra? Probably not, except in older games.
in WoW, sure, as long as your CPU can hack it.
In modern AAA games? Not likely.
But in modern AAA games turned down to a mix of Medium-High settings? Yeah, probably.
If you want 1440p, Ultra, and a consisten 60fps, you’re looking at an RX 5700, 5700XT, RTX 2070, 2070 SUPER or better. (Though the 5700XT or 2070 SUPER can probably handle better than 60fps at 1440p).
You can probably get away with 1440p at mostly High settings with a 1660 SUPER.
Depends on what title you play. I’d recommend buying a good Freesync monitor before investing in a good card. A good monitor will give you a better experience and last longer.
Just WOW. Not interested in other games
At this time an RX590 will be fine for WoW at 1440p/60fps. However, next xpac is supposed to have Raytracing and other improvements.
IMO spend the money on a good Freesync monitor and wait to get a good vid card later. Pixio makes some good monitors without extra price of paying for a name.
I’m surprised ppl don’t YouTube such questions, Rx 590 1440p gaming. Watch the results.
My Rx 580 back during legion did well at 1440p, it still does today on my 2nd PC, 7 settings then 7 settings now
Like Aribeth said, get yourself a freesync monitor and enjoy that 60fps at 1440p
I’m more surprised that kagthul is saying the 1660 super is better than the Rx 590 when the 590 is spitting distance to a 1660 super, for less
Because i didn’t say that.
I didn’t compare it to the RX 590 at all.
Would probably help if you didn’t invent things that weren’t said, or try to insert meaning where there is none.
All i said was, you could probably scrape by at 1440p with a 1660 SUPER.
There was no implication of any kind that it was better or worse than a 590 (since i didn’t look up benchmarks).
Nor did i suggest that he get a 1660 SUPER. My suggestion, in fact, was to get a 5700, 5700XT, 2070 SUPER, or 2070 (in roughly that order).
But it’s in the title… OP has a rx590 in mind if he’s asking if it can do 1440p
And had he listened to this, he would actually spend more for the same performance of a 590 with +5 or -5 fps differences
Ah, so in favor of Nvidia I see
Then don’t mention the 1660 super…?
And if you looked at his previous thread about asking what would an upgrade from a i5 6500, it’s safe to assume OP doesn’t have a big budget which is why he probably saw Rx 590s for sub $200
We don’t know his budget yes, but if he’s planning to upgrade his cpu (mandatory ram and motherboard upgrades too) and GPU, it’s probably why he’s asking if the 590s are good at 1440p
You suggesting him Rx 5700s/rtx 2070s isn’t within his budget range perhaps
Its not. The 590 is cheap so thats why I asked.
Yes I figured this as well
The RX 590 can handle 1440p no sweat, if my Rx 580 did back then, the 590 should not have any issues at all
Thank you guys for helping me. Yall rock
Just make sure you get the latest drivers, the new drivers that came out 2 days ago made some huge improvements, anyone who had issues before this update they no longer have them on their RX 500 series cards, the 5700s series
Heck even someone with the HD 7950 card that’s a 2012 card gave them improvements
