R/wow has 3 million subs

I think it’s safe to say the game is healthy when there’s this many Reddit posters.

What do you think was the most players to ever play? And the least?

The peak was over 12 million back in wrath of the lich king.

No game with such a massive demographic of reddit posters should be considered “healthy”

Yeah, I also got a few “OK Boomer” answers.
It’s not a nice place unless you follow the mob of 14 year olds.

reddit and r/wow has been a thing since 2008. vast majority of those users are more than likely inactive in the sub

Wonder how many joined it thinking it was a subreddit for things that make you say “wow”.

there is zero correlation from reddit sub count to a games population.

Well we know there’s more than 3 million players. That’s not zero.

That didn’t say zero players, they said zero correlation from reddit to sub count to a games population.

Yea at least you know that it was WRATH and not Cata that was the high point for WoW.

Just a little post to get rid of boredom, and now I’m caught up in a fight.
Never change wow forums.

WoW was the king of the video game universe for a very long time, and Wrath (as previously mentioned) was its peak for sub numbers as far as we’re aware.

I don’t think it will ever be that high again, just based on the age of the game and changes in gaming in general over the past 20 years.

That said, a lot of people still play this game.

getting corrected and called out on false information is not a “fight”

I actually joined that subreddit when I wasn’t playing WoW. Quite a few people have an interest in the game but no longer play it.

But it’s good to see interest is healthy. No doubt, playerhousing will be a big game changer. I came back after it was announced.

All I did was point out r/wow had 3 million users and it reflected well on the game.
Point to me where I lied to the crowd.

Yep, and? The game is healthy because there’s a lot of reddit activity.
I for one didn’t expect it to be close to that number.
