RWF and what people take from it

RWF (race to world first) is a event where the top WoW guilds around the world try to kill the final boss on mythic difficulty first. However, during these we see them take certain classes/specs and nothing more or less. example, in SoD they took only priests(mostly disc) hpal and Rshammy for RWF as their healers and stayed Brewmaster monk and prot pally.
Now these classes and specs are good in their own rights, but people take their team comps as gospel.
during CN and SoD i saw guilds only recruiting certain classes or specs and most those guilds died because they didnt understand why the top end guilds bring them.
SoFO we see them dropping disc for hpriest Resto druid and MW and hpal and now those same people who only recruiting for healers (i would do DPS but that would take to long to list as there is 16+ DPS)
So i want to hear why do these guilds that dont even reach CE believe they most take the class/spec over the good player?

RWF is about tricking streamers into buying boosts, level 60 tokens, shuffling around lots of gold for funnels, etc. Blizzard balances the game around that arm twist. Some guilds wanna keep things moving, so they try to play how Blizzard balances the game. There’s not a lot to do about it, Blizzard certainly isn’t going to change this patch, probably not for 10.x either. Maybe 11.0 will be done under Microsoft guidance and they will try to get Blizzard to tone down the scam balancing, or maybe Microsoft bought them because they want in on that action, it is hard to say. Your best recourse is to roll with it or stop thinking about it.

what? right now this is the best balance we have ever seen. what is with all these blizzard conspiracy theorists. like we saw a huge change in meta it went from mass DR healers to HPS healers which is the first time that has happened in nearly 3xpacs. but the point is why do people follow it as this is what you need or you dont get to play. thats the point because the game anyone class or spec is good and can get CE just as easily as the next

Yea, I’m sure best balance of all time is why 90% of DPS streamers rerolled boomy to finish SoD CE ASAP. It was totally because of some toxic mentality and not because they did 40% more damage than everyone else.

bud thats SoD we arent in SoD anymore we are in SoFO. idk if you realize but this is a new patch and the balancing is really good right now

No one even knows the balancing intention right now, Blizzard locked second legendary away late into patch so they could move the reroll pinch later into the patch. PTR testing means nothing, it wont be apparent which class they want everyone rerolling to until we get live logs of double legendary.

saying second lego is going to massive for every spec as well as tier they are still all doing roughly the same damage. please stop trying to blame blizz for the player bases perception. its the reason why things dont change or get fixed

How often do you believe this actually happens?

I’d be willing to bet that the vast majority of guilds will take someone who is competent to fill a spot they need, regardless of what’s meta.

a large majority. just go look at your local recruitment forums or posts.

a truly elite player can pick up any class thats needed and have it geared in splits and ready to go. so yeah, it’s the player.

You say that, and yet how can you possibly know if a guild is looking for priests because they think they’re the silver bullet to solving their progression problems…or because they already have people playing the other classes and want more variety in their raid?

welcome to the world of warcraft logs raiderio and wowaudit
you can see what their current comp is and how good they are. lol you cant hide anything in WoW anymore.

Because they’re stupid lol. People will always follow the meta that’s created by the top players whether it’s raid composition, talents, legendary power, etc.

At some point players have adopted this mindset that the only way they can succeed at something is if they do exactly what the top 1% of players do.

i agree 100% i been playing Resto for a long time. even when it was bad. now thats it meta i still play it because its just what i always played. but i seen a influx in guilds searching for them now that limit is using one and a influx of FoTM people trying to play them and get into guilds with subpar logs.

Sorry, buddy. I’m not buying that you’re out there researching the comps and recruitment of most guilds. The “ermahgerd people only want meta classes!!!” nonsense is overblown.

ok. your guild died during CN after killing hungering. you guys didnt raid at all during SoD or even now. majority of your players have been offline for months and dont even do keys. shall i continue? you can see and tell 99.9% of the goals and ability of a guild and their recruiting intentions. im sorry you dont see it that way but you also havent seemed to go look for a guild recently nor played recently. so why you feel the need to argue when you obviously havent played (at least on this character) is beyond me.

What I’ve learned about RWF is that it’s apparently so important that guilds will enable a ‘person who seeks out underage girls’ in order to prevent losing a key member.

I’ve also learned that they can just rebrand under a different name and all is forgiven including by some of the big name streamers and youtubers who were feigning disgust at the time.

I’ve also learned it’s boring af to watch.

RWF is bad for game. WoW should overtune the bosses to prevent it from being clear within the 1st month.

If you aren’t going for WF just play whatever you want. The Meta-game and min/maxing everything is bad for the other classes and specs.

Again WoW shouldn’t be trying to be Team Fortress 2. Its a MMORPG not an ESPORT!!!

i agree and disagree i enjoy RWF because they have to basically cheese the boss and be clever. however i dont agree with how people perceive it as that is the meta when even those top end guilds urge people not to copy them unless they are attempting RWF

My main:

I’ve been posting on this character for years now. I feel no compelling reason to switch. But it’s fun seeing you torpedo your own premise. You could have looked at my raid achievements to see that I’ve continued since that guild fell apart, but you didn’t. Congratulations.
