Am I correct the side instance is for the old version and
the raid version is the newer instance yes?
I’m not sure I totally understand the question, however the main entrance is for the cathedral version with Balnazzar as the end boss, the Service entrance is for the section with the ziggurats with Rivendare as the boss.
Yes but how to get into a raid if I want to start one up?
There is no Stratholme raid.
but there are 2 versions… I used to know this… sorry
Stratholme was a 10 man dungeon way back in Vanilla. Now it’s a five man instance separated into two sections, the main entrance and the side entrance. It was never a raid.
It’s okay. In classic, it’s all one instance. In mainline WoW, there are two instances, the main gate and the service gate. There is also the Caverns of Time instance, the Culling of Stratholme.
ok I know about the caverns of time instance.
but not sure how to get into the new version. I tried both sides.
The old version no longer exists in game.
well I just flew out to plaguelands and went in and I do not see any of the ziggurats inside… uuugh
my gut tells me there used to be a key we needed or maybe that was
for something else
You want the side entrance for those. The main entrance leads to the Scarlet Crusade area.
The key hasn’t been needed for a long time.
What exactly do you mean by the ‘new version’ ? The ziggurats are located in the side entrance.
It’s broken up into two different instances. There is the one with Balnazar as the last boss and then there is the side entrance you would use to get to Baron rivendare.
The cavern of time has the Arthas culling it version.
You used to need a key back then to get into the side entrance because it was like a skip back then.
But the og stratholme is just two different dungeons now.
Towards the end of Vanilla, it became a dungeon similar to Blackrock Depths. It was no longer a raid at this point. Same with UBRS, and that one in WPL whose name escapes me. The island with ghosts that were invisible without the one item.
They were raids at the start, but around BWL they became regular dungeons.
