Rustfeather should have an announcment on spawn

Like “CACAW” or “SWEET GREEN JESUS WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE” or “WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME”

Pretty sure there’s always some announcement in General Chat when Rustfeather spawns. And then 7s later when it’s dead.

I want to know what a giant bird is doing with the junkheap drifter in the first place

You’ll know when rust feather was up when someone starts complaining/celebrating in general chat about the blueprint or mount.

Then you time 45mins later and don’t miss the next one.

Nah I’m usually there waiting. I just think it’d be funny.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a bit more consistency in spawn times. I’ve seen it spawn as fast as 20 minutes.

Need Everquest spawn timers: 2-24 hours +/- 10.

Also come to think of it, I’ve had general and trade chat turned off for so many years now I think I’ve forgotten what channels they are by default.

  1. General
  2. Trade

Usually. I would be bored to tears in cities without Genchat. It’s not quite Barrens chat from vanilla, but still entertains.

On my server it’s just rage inducing.

Also I think I tried those and it was toggling me in and out of my guild/community channels so I probably f’d something up I don’t feel like fixing.

Yes! And I think Soundless should also have an announcement when he spawns! Maybe something like “Why am I here? Just to suffer?”

I have managed to forget that there is a chat window. It is still there in the lower left corner but I just don’t pay it any mind.

They’d have to rename him, then.

Sound sure sounds like a good name to me!

They all need to say the same thing: Look upon me, ye mighty, and despair!

Then promptly get dropped 10s later.

Yes, but as with the other “shout out I’M HERE!” spawns:

People would not be as apt to hang around the spawn point, if the mob gave a “shout out.”

It is kind of how that Murloc “spit” something shouts out, there is no sense of urgency to hang around where he is. Some players still bother to say, “Hey, that murloc guy is up” which is kind of funny.

Yeah, I think Rustfeather’s spawn time is longer. Still though, it would help.

They probably should, the Arachnoid Harvester does so there’s really no reason for it not to.

Crows are attracted to shiny things, metal junk are shiny.

Yeah, crows are supposed to leave them as gifts for people they like too, so could he drop his damn treasure already?

Ya just have to go wait for him within about 15 minutes of his death, then surf the web while watching the screen for his arrival.
