Rustbolt Resistance - Rank 4 Essence

I was told to post this on the forums by Game Master staff. Since I was able to achieve 2400 in 3v3, I have been grinding out all the rest of the rank 4 essences for Phenomenal Cosmic Power, and right now I’m just missing Rank 4 Purification Protocol. To this point, I’ve gotten 8 paragon boxes with no special drops of any kind. During this effort, I have stopped doing all other content that is not related to grinding Rustbolt Resistance reputation. So every day I’m full clearing Mechagon (even fish, rig, and recycling), and doing a full WQ clear with a Rustbolt Resistance contract. While I understand the desire to obfuscate the specifics of the implementation for bad luck protection on Mechagon/Nazjatar Paragon Chests back in June, it would be nice to know whether my efforts will be rewarded before it’s too late. This grind is certainly taking a toll on my sanity and I’ll be crushed if it turns out that I’ve wasted all this time. I’m begging the developers to give people in my situation some morsel of information here.

Before Blizz added in bad rng protection for the paragon R4 essence drops, I was at 20+ Mechagon boxes with 0 R4 drops… and just quit trying. Started back up with the rep buff recently and 2 of the 3 R4 essences from first 2 Mechagon Paragon boxes. Probably get the final one in one of hte next 2 paragon boxes.

So my advice to you is just do every Mechagon rep thing possible right now with the rep bonus active and you should get the R4 no problem. You can grind out 1 rep box per 3-4 days right now. So just enough time if you put in the effort.

I also am missing this essence, and put in a ticket trying to gather information on if it would still be obtainable in prepatch since I seem to be unlucky (15 boxes no essence). The GM I spoke to said that no bad luck protection exists for those boxes (which contradicts what the blue post said in June). Sooooo now I have no clue what to believe :confused: I also have been doing even world quests with contracts because I am so desperate.
