Has anyone had experience running WOW with disk compression on? I have a Windows 10 system with 250 GB of SSB but free space is getting low.
How bad does it impact performance?
How much free space are you likely to gain?
I’m pretty sure it won’t compress a file you use regularly. It compresses little used files to save some space. At least the last time I used it, that was the way it worked. Long time since I filled up a hard drive/ssd.
Goto the store and buy like 1TB SSD for like i think $80

I haven’t used compression on the regular in … twenty-odd years? Something like that. Back then, HD space was expensive and software was cheap. Nowadays, SSDs are relatively cheap. I’d look into going that route.
Storage is so cheap nowadays, I would just buy a new, bigger SSD (or two)
250 GB is a bit low in the year 2023, seems like 500 GB is the bare minimum for a typical user these days… but storage is so cheap you might as well buy a 1-2 TB one when you go shopping
With only 250 GB just WoW alone is going to take up like half of your space
