Running Windows Backup

Ok, so I caved and am backing up my files with windows, but I have a question: Do I have to also add “One Drive”? I use google docs and am satisfied with that, as my rig is a gaming computer and google docs just saves our budget and some pics.

Windows (11) seems to want total control of my rig and I’m not that confident about it…

I have an external hard drive, and it’s plugged in, but as I received no instructions with it, I have no idea if it’s even working, so with windows backup, at least I have it in the cloud.

What do y’all think?

Thanks!

PS: Using Chrome as my browser.

Microsoft One Drive, those files ARE saved to the cloud (Microsoft server)… so they can never be lost… they say…
Win 11 seems to want total control of your rig? No. You get to select your data.
Microsoft wants to determine:
Where and how you harvest that data.
Where and how you store that data
How difficult it will be for you to share that data.
Its like having a guard dog you’re afraid of… sorta…
