Why is my character running diagonally and how do i fix it?

Did you log off and back on again? General fix for a lot of things.
Oh, and by chance is your character a bishop?

yes and no… thank you (not sure what you mean by bishop)
In chess, the bishop can only move diagonally. The first part was a real suggestion.
