[?] Running Outleveled Dungeons in Classic

I’ve been questing so much that it seems that I may have outleveled an early dungeon or two. However, I’d still like to complete the quests that I have for those dungeons even if I don’t get much XP for them in the process.

Is there any penalty for my groupmates if I run a dungeon I’ve outleveled in a group with others who are still the appropriate level? Does the XP nerf for being overleveled only affect me, or would it affect everyone in the group?

I believe it also affects the group, but the trade off is that they finish it faster, and there is one less person to roll on loot, since you’re higher level and less likely to want or need any of the drops.
I’d trade the XP gain for a faster clear any day.

From what I remember, it depends on how over leveled you are. The group range is fairly broad, something like 10 levels between top and bottom. So if you are 30 and running with a bunch of level 20s, will definitely impact the XP. However a 30 with a bunch of 22s is probably fine. These are 15 year old memories here so take it with a grain of salt.

Just make sure the people you’re running with are aware. Not everyone likes to be babysat through an instance. But plenty do.

Are you still in the level range of the meeting stone?

I was grouping with my lower level alt in the barrens. I was getting 150 xp per kill, she was getting 50. We were both in the level range of the zone.

I’ll have to check. The dungeon quests I have for the dungeon in question are still green (vs. grey) in my quest log, so there’s that.
