Running into 2700 bgb assassination rogue not pressing envenom in shuffle

not gonna name drop because i dont need a forums suspension, but is that an actual playstyle, or is this guy just used to applying dots and doing nothing else?

his damage profile: imgur .com/a/ndRH3xT

wound up losing in damp because i didnt have the burst to finish the target and then i see hes only using DoT finishers which is making me fuming

Envenom does 500k dam with full
Combo points

from what i gathered reading here was that the modern assassination rogue wastes energy on envenom that they’d be better off spending bleeding and aoeing or something. dunno if it applies to tww.

At 2700 I’d guess he knows how to play

i mean 2700 bgb is not hard whatsoever i got 2400 solo in less than 100 games on my dk

and 500k envenom would be very useful when the target is 20% hp multiple times and he still doesn’t press it once

just seems like a pve mindset to never press it and only reapply bleeds

I use it if my targets are fully dotted

I wasn’t in the game, but there are several high-rated rbg rogues that struggle in arena because an objective-based game mode is WILDLY different from a team deathmatch.

That being said, it’s usually more damage to apply bleeds and NOT press envenom to get the bonus bleed ticks. You really only press it on your shiv+kingsbane window when you have excess energy.

Just looked at the breakdown. Is he only hitting one target the entire game? His FoK and CT are super low, but melee is reasonably high. You really cant just hit one target as sin rogue or you’ll be energy starved, which I’m guessing is what’s happening here.

Rogues don’t have to be good at arena to do well in BGs. If he’s good at using his kit to take/keep nodes, that will net him a 50% WL minumum.

Then on flag maps all he has to do is wait for stacks and open up on an EFC, which will probably net him more wins than losses.

depends on energy economy. for whatever reason as of legion blizzard decided that only subtlety gets a refund on finishers. so if ruptures are expiring / garrotes falling and the rogue dumps that energy on an envenom there’s a chance they’re gonna be gassed depending on where they are on energy.

there’s some talent that passively deletes energy when it’s above a certain threshold for more damage, I think that’s one of the reasons they play aoe / bleed / rot now as they’re pigeonholed into it by design otherwise they just do less damage with less more energy spent or something.

This isn’t wrong it’s just imo an incomplete perspective. Game’s designed intentionally to the point where the pve mindset for some specs is the correct mindset. granted as assassination whenever it’s been viable that’s the mindset it gets. famously why blind when you can envenom for 9k.
