Ascension (arguably the primary inspiration for SoD) has had multiple dual wield paladin builds that have been top of the meta across seasons. It’s entirely possible to tweak their toolkit for dw support.
No thanks, dual Wield is the reason of why i don’t play enh shaman in sod/ tbc etc and do not play frost dk in retail.
Only if Rogues get a bunch of invulnerability and healing / buffing abilities to bring them into alignment with Paladin utility.
Not to mention that if you give paladins - ret especially - dual wield and don’t make them absolutely and disgustingly broken, any paladin trying to play ret can have fun never getting weapons in a raid.
Either that or they just don’t raid with their guild, blow a ton of gold the guild didn’t know the paladin had on GDKPs for a few weeks, and then come back to find they’ve still wasted their money, then potentially get a 6-month suspension if a ban wave just so happens to roll out right afterwards.
Ascension is so immensely far off in left field it’s not a valid data point. That’s like using a guy who got hit by a bus as a data point when he was in a medical trial for a gas relief medicine lol. Might as well compare the meta gameplay for Clue and Risk.
bro what part of “the entire concept of SoD was ripped from Ascension” did you fail to grasp
We will be fine. We have a new rune that restores a massive amount of mana.
5% every 3 sec which with crusader strike is easily 12% of our total mana back on CD. At current 1k mana levels thats an easy 120 mana between crusader strikes.
I mean, if you wanna believe that go ahead. It’s forums, if there wasn’t a crazy conspiracy nut spouting garbage it wouldn’t be the internet.
Cool story bro. Have fun with that.
“classic Vanilla WoW, but you can use skills/talents that came in later expansions, and some brand new abilities, letting classes perform new roles, and retooling the original pve encounters for new mechanics and new loot”
a year or three ago that could ONLY be talking about Ascension/Conquest of Azeroth/TurtleWOW, but you wanna pretend SoD isn’t the result of Blizz noticing the popularity of those servers. Well it is, ya wacky contrarian pedant!
No. I want to bash enemy skulls with two hammers in a Holy fury. What people need to stop asking for is the recycled garbage that is in retail. SoD is about trying something totally new. You know, trying things like healing mages and tanking warlocks. Bring in the dual wielding Paladins!
ask him to elaborate on what he means by “it was figured out that Paladins were a BAD choice for dual wield” i wanna hear more nonsense hehe
Yeah, I have no idea what he is talking about. I don’t care if it becomes more difficult to gear a Paladin. Dual wielding would make Seal of the Crusader more appealing to use for its main effect rather than its judgement effect.
Ahh yes because “Autoattack faster at -40% damage” is somehow BETTER just because there’s an additional also heavily penalized auto with it.
They cannot alter talent trees without also altering them for Era, hence talents aren’t changing themselves, they’re modded through Runes.
Paladin talents have no support for dual wield whatsoever and in fact strongly steer us for 2h.
They’d have to alter the way Seals work entirely (which they also can’t do, because Era) because of the way they’re coded.
We don’t have any abilities to abuse to make hit cap easier to reach after dual wield penalty.
And on and on and on and on…
It’s almost like one of us has played Paladin since Vanilla, and some others have no idea what they’re talking about.
