This dude has the same voice actor as the primus, his memories are wiped, and no one knows where the primus is.
His armor also just looks like a maw version of the primus. So, like is this guy the Primus?
That’s what I was thinking. But it said he’s been there for awhile, and according to blizzard the runecarver is the guy who made Frostmourne. I don’t know how long the primus has been missing but I don’t think its been that long.
Maybe its an oversight in the lore?
This guy has all the traits the Primus did. The Primus himself was a legendary runecarver and blacksmith. I would be shocked if it isn’t him.

Where do you learn that the Runecarver is the one who made Frostmourne? Was it stated during questing and I just missed it? Or is it out-of-game trivia type stuff?
It could be an oversight but I’m not too sure he’s the primus. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a “First One” that’s been held captive by the jailer to make his army some weapons and armor.
Something Ion said at Blizzcon, a throwaway line when describing Torghast.
I think it’s just an oversight on their part. Otherwise The Primus and Runecarver are nearly identical characters in the story, which is super weird.
One weird thing is that the Primus has 3 fingers on each hand, while the Runecarver has 4.
No one gives any kind of timeline for his disappearance. All we know is he used to be around and then he wasn’t.
I’m pretty sure Ion or one of the guys previewing Torghast mentioned it. Not 100% so I may be misremembering it, but I think that’s what they said. I’m sure someone on here can correct me if I’m wrong.
Ya I figured there wasn’t a “he’s been missing for x amount of time.” I’m not sure though, definitely interested in the identity of the Runecarver for sure though. Mainly cause stuff like that bothers me not being able to google it lol.
