Rune Slots, Phase TWO

Are they going to add slots to different equipment?

Or, are they going to stick with the current items you can forge and force us to pick and choose the new runes VS the old ones?

The goss is 6 new runes in 2 new slots. I assume this pattern repeats - phase 3 6 new runes and 2 new slots and same for phase 4 - ending with 30 runes and 9 slots.

Leeroy needs his cloth shoulders…

Rumor is they aren’t releasing any information on phase 2 runes at all, and are fully leaving it up to the playerbase to discover after the phase launches. So its not possible to know.

I… okay

:smiling_face_with_tear:

I believe I heard 2 slots 6 runes or so as stated before.

Feral tanks need some attention
-we don’t have a snap threat ability like “Shield slam” and we need 1

-our AoE threat doesn’t exist but if data mined “Thrash” is correct that will help but swipe REALLY needs to somehow scale with something pref AP so it is not totally useless.

-A “last stand” style rune would help out bears in late game raid tanking

-A “shield wall” style rune like barkskin useable in bear form.

-I have never understood why bear form has never had a bite ability of any kind… could be used in the future?

-please change lacerate to scale with AP not weapon damage as its the only thing that works off weapon damage and if this is not changed will complicate late game gearing more than needed.

I feel like this would be fixed if bears could use both Mangle and Lacerate. Bear mangle used to hit pretty hard back in TBC

When it says weapon damage, I am pretty sure it means your bear claws, not your staff or whatever and I think an attack power increase will increase weapon damage

In SoD Lacerate causes a DoT that stacks 5 times AND 20% WEAPON DAMAGE per stack… i am unsure why blizzard did this… but it is in fact based on weapon damage NOT attack power like erything else we have… erything else states “normal damage” not “weapon damage”

And yea mangle and lacerate together would solve the problems but ive been asking for that for over a month to no avail

Why 6? Seems like an odd number to have since right now on average each slot has 4 runes. Not only that but Blizzards approach is that each class has around four builds, so eight runes means each build gets one new rune in each slot.

Stated by who?

Why do you people just make stuff up?

I heard it was blah blah blah.

No you didnt. You didnt hear anything from Blizzard.

I’ve listened to everything Aggrend has said during and since Blizzcon and this was not a thing at all.

I tested lacerate on my Druid against the level 27 shadow weaver Worgens with two different weapons - Smite’s hammer and a skinning dagger.

Smites hammer (19.7 DPS - 3.5 speed)- the instant damage portion did 12 damage on the first cast and by the 5th stack was doing 59 damage. The dot component started at 9 damage per tick on 1st stack and 47 damage on the 5th stack

Skinning dagger (2.2 DPS - 2.6 speed) - the instant damage portion did 12 again on the 1st stack but only 48 on the 5th. The dot portion was ticking for 9 damage per tick on the 1st stack and 47 damage by the 5 stack

Based on the damage dealt by lacerates with two different weapons I think it is safe to say that it is not based on your equipped weapon’s damage (Skinning dagger got a lot more than 1 damage increase each stack (20% of 5)) but rather your bear claws due to roughly even amount of damage outputted.

(Smites hammer only gives a rounded 2 DPS increase over the skinning dagger because 14 AP give 1 DPS - 26 AP ~ 2DPS)

While most Feral abilities say normal damage, normal damage and weapon damage are essentially the same things, which is the damage you would do if you melee a monster in whatever state you are in with all your modifiers.

Abilities that do weapon damage, do base weapon damage plus all modifiers (AP or % damage increases), exactly how auto-attacks work. Imagine if Warrior’s Mortal Strike didn’t benefit from Attack power, meaning they would do less damage than auto-attack damage, that would be pretty sad.

rets are S tier wtf do u mean lol

thank you for testing this! then i have to wonder why they have the tool tip wrong? maybe that needs attention…

the main issue with feral tank atm is swipe not scaling and the lack of a “shield slam” style ability while we have lacerate for snap initial aggro
