Rune Slot Idea: Double Shield Warrior Tanks and Titan's Grip Warrior DPS

Give warrior tanks double shields availability and DPS double 2 handed weapons on same rune slot.

Convert block into normalized weapon damage when shield used in main hand and add some other funs stuff to the rune, like extra threat, a CD, AoE, or extra thorns.

This would be really cool and would be something fresh for warrior tanks.

This was always my most hated change to fury warriors idk why I just never liked it. Lol

Being a mobile bulwark would be a Warrior thing imo from a class flavor standpoint.
Paladins throw their shield, warriors have shield wall.
Imagine a Dwarf with double tower shields or a big Tauren with tiny double spiked bucklers.

My thoughts:
Shield block is now up at all times with 2 shields.
Added shield thorn damage based on block rating.
Weapon skill for shield would be treated as unarmed.
Weapon damage is calculated from shield block.
One handed weapon specialization toward shield weapon damage.
WF weapon works on MH shield.
Weapon speed is normalized to whatever makes sense and impacted from haste buffs from there.

Now imagine an improved shield slam:
Shield slam reset proc chance with block, procs costs no rage. Now cleaves up to 4 enemies within some radius. Damage modified by sum of both block values.

Warriors are generally more offensive tanks, their primary tanking abilities rotating around Revenge and Sunder Armor.

Paladins are thematically more defensive tanks, their primary threat generators centering around being hit. While shields are certainly used by warriors, they are iconic to paladins.

Ironically, both races capable of being Paladins in the lore (though not in Classic or SOD)

I get what you are saying and agree somewhat.

I just imagine Paladins being holy empowered tanks with forcefield type effects whereas I think of warriors with shields as looking like a literal M1 Abrams and surviving off of carrying around a massive amount of bulky gear.

Would be interesting if taking lethal damage as a warrior tank triggered an invulnerability for 2 second and a bit of rage. Make it look/sounds like a battle shout. Put it on a 2 minute CD like Wrath Ardent Defender.

Give Pally tanks Ardent defender. Give Shaman tanks auto-ankh. Druid tanks get an auto re-birth that consumes seeds. Rogue tanks get something similar to cloak of shadows on lethal. Warlock get a auto-Soulstone like effect or an auto pet sacrifice.

Let them trigger a cooldown that has them not able to go below 1 hp for 5 seconds instead of dying. Undying Rage lmao.
