I’ll actually throw in a bit of a nuanced take just based on my own thoughts on the matter.
I’d be open to having Rune of Power stay, but only if it was toned down significantly. You know, like in earlier expansions where there was actual competition between it and other talents.
When RoP is sitting at 40% increased damage and you have abilities like Shifting Power, Time Anomaly, and Icy Propulsion giving you an inordinate amount of potential uptime, it feels extremely bad in any content to be forced off of it. It strangles out a lot of potential design space because RoP magnifies everything during burst windows.
The problem isn’t RoP itself, it’s that the entire class’s damage is being built around it because it’s gotten so out of control.

Yeah. I mean I think rune of power simply isn’t fun, which is why I just want it gone. But a lot of compromises have been “oh, rune of power is stupidly overpowered and this class is designed entirely around it now so let’s change it,” which is true.
In which case, pruning the power is a solution.
But I feel like everybody would just take encanter’s flow if you nerf it, because encanter’s flow is more fun and more mobile.
If encanter’s flow is competitive, it wins, and we’re back to “there isn’t an interesting choice with a talent meant to be a choice.”
The only adventage RoP would have there is that there’s no counter to have to keep track of and no timers to mess up a timed fight-- what you cast at the moment is what you get. That alone might be enough for some to keep it. But I think a lot of players would not wa

One of the reasons people don’t take IF is because fights are designed around bursting down certain adds in certain windows.
Fights like sludgefist or mythic artificer in SoTFO require bursting down certain adds. If you don’t kill the adds on m artificer then it’s an immediate wipe and you get zero value from IF.
