So I have been thinking about this a lot. We have to use rune blades well why can’t we get blizzard to make rune blade weapons that only we can use. Have them look like the original dk starting area rune blades. And they can be any 2h-1h weapon that we can use but give dk’s more rune blade themed weapons. And not just the stupid transmog like at the end of legion where you could buy the ebon blade transmog weapons.
Or make it so that when we engrave runes onto new weapons it changes them and makes it so you can see runes running down the blade. I like the concept of rune blades but they have fallen by the wayside. I wish we could bring them back.

I would like a visual effect. Like a special UI that allows us to not only pick our Rune effect but also its appearance. We could choose from the 3 colours and then select a series of runes which we can see as an illusion transmog on our weapons.

Yea I just want new runeblades. And for them to be actual weapons that we can use. Not just transmog bs.

Aren’t runeblades just… swords? And you put runes on them and make them look different?
I like the concept of being able to visually customize our weapons with runes.
As far as DK specific weapon types, I always thought that scythes would be the go-to category to add as something that’s DK only. A lot of the Unholy & Blood artifact appearances also heavily resemble scythes and given the death theme, it’d be a natural fit.

If you look at wrath and some of the weapons they were actually themed rune blades. We put runes on weapons now but they still visually look the same. I think we should get real rune blades like we were getting in wrath. Or have it so when we put runes on our weapons it changes the look so they are dark color with runes running down them.
So do you want swords that look like runeblades or runeblades as their own unique weapon type, like warglaives are? I thought you were initially advocating for the latter
Yes I would like Rune Blades either to be their own unique weapon for dks only or when we put runes on weapons it changes the weapons look so that its colored like a rune blade and has runes running down it.
In Shadowlands we’re getting a lot of new runeblade skins, but some kind of deeply visual DK exclusive weapons with glow displays for the runes and spell effects would be godly.
I used Bonereaper’s Hook for about 2 years. Scythes would be welcomed.
See thats the thing its skins. We should be getting actual usable weapons
