Rumors of no 10.3 patch

I’ve been reading other wow players’ takes on other forums, and one of their concerns was that around 10.2 was going to be the finish line for this expansion (with the season 3 raid being the final, and a possible season 4 fated). That being said, now that I am looking at the roadmap given to us it ends on patch 10.2 with season 3, so another raid patch might not have been in the cards to begin with. If new content ends at season 3, it will be clear that Dragonflight has had a major content patch scrapped/skipped like WoD and Shadowlands compared to MoP/Legion/BFA.

On one hand, I’ve been enjoying both seasons of DF and the .5 and smaller patches with solid content in between. On the other hand, if I sit and think about it I’m missing out on a major content patch that could be worth like 25% of an expansion. I’m still conflicted though, from what I learned from BFA, more content is not necessarily better either.

I remember during the Sanctum of Domination patch during shadowlands, being bitter that it took so long to come out, all the while realizing that it would be certified clunker (and it was). Part of the cope from me during that patch was thinking that, if we had that extra major patch the game could be better and major expansion issues could band-aided or solved sooner. Idk if that’s the wrong approach to this.

Do you think DF will get the extra patch or do you think they’ve dropped DF to work on the next expansion? Does it matter either way? If DF is dropped and focus is put on the next expac, does that put more pressure on it to succeed?

Guess we’ll know soon with 10.2 announcements and Blizzcon.

Those other players are dumb as hell.

It’s barely been a full year. This would be the shortest-lived expansion in WoW’s History. There’s got to be a 10.3.

I think the real notion is that Dragonflight’s story is going to finish with 10.2 while 10.3 will be the segue into the next.

i had a blast during that time. idk why so many people say shadowlands was so bad. perhaps at the beginning with the covenants being set in stone, you could make an argument i suppose. but after that changed, i just dont get all the hate

This feels like another failsafe sort of ending. Sort of like how 9.2 felt like some half baked fabricated story to justify ending Shadowlands early. So far, that’s what 10.2 is shaping up to feel like. Vyranoth going complete turncoat before she ever really did anything or had any actual screen time. Fyrakk just carrying the villain role as the big bad of the expansion because Blizzard knew they were gonna have to wrap this up early like with SL. The super rushed Bronze Dragonflight plotline that was covered in a .5 patch instead of a dedicated patch.

All signs point to 10.2 being the final patch, with the new expansion hyped at Blizzcon and Blizzard planning to rake in that preorder revenue to cover lost costs.

Because people misunderstand “2023 Roadmap” for “Dragonflight Roadmap” because they’re idiots.

Look at SL season 4.

That’s your 10.3

All of y’all are forgetting the 4-6 weeks of prepatch before the historical launch window of mid-August to late November.

There is no time for another tier besides what we’ll get in 10.2.

It took a year to get the finalized changes of 9.1.5. Yeah for me I started playing more heavily when word on the streets were of their being discussion from blizz about a patch in 9.1 to fix things. And then bam in August 2021 they drop news of 9.1.5 fixing stuff. Actually enjoyed doing korthia then until 9.2 because it fell like all my effort was being 4x rewarded.

And well I actually liked the season 4 stuff.

I’m a wow player and I’m on the forum and wow is shutting down in 17.67 days.

You have to trust me because someone on the internet said it. Run along and spread the word now.

I could see it going either way with announcements hinging on Blizzcon. I’m more pessimistic about it from the reports of the blizzard employees being forced to cut content off the existing roadmap due to bad practices (like forcing remote workers to be onsite or they are terminated and forced negative peer reviews). I mean DF was given free to players who didn’t have it after a couple of months (I kinda feel like a chump paying full $ for it), things aren’t looking great.

This is what’s most likely to happen in the season 3 + fated end scenario, but still feels like an overall L for the consumer.

I disagree. I think Korthia was lame and hyper grindy for lackluster rewards, player power was tied to some of those rewards, shards sucked, SoD was a punishing and unfun raid, lore was the worst it’s ever been. That’s just my take though, I can see someone having fun nonetheless.

I am not surprised that 10.2 is the last patch for DF.

The story in DF is very boring. I mean only Steve and Ion can make DRAGONS boring.

The World content rewards are very bad

The new profession system and work order system are Azerite dumpster fire level of bad.

The subs are tanking hard right now that’s why DF is on sale like all the time now.

10.2 will be the last major season UNLESS do they a mini season like three boss raid to take us into 11.0. I don’t see a full season four that isn’t a “best of season”.

I do expect a 10.2.5 and 10.2.7 patch

if theyre announcing next xpac now, the xpac would have been on the verge of a .3 patch. if its on the verge of .2 then .3 will either be cut or be a lead in to 11.0 the light vs void war

oh has that been confirmed already?

historically the next xpac would be announced and current xpac .3 would be out or at least about to be out.

its safe to say, they arent gonna have 2 entire patches if another xpac is announced. unless they do a wod. and 10.2 lasts for a year + more covid lockdowns

Why do you do this to yourself?

Content pacing has been really fast so I’d be pretty surprised and disappointed if it only had 3 raid tiers.

Also MoP only had 3 raid tiers and SoO lasted for over a year.

Wrath, MoP, and WoD were the 3 expansions to have their final tier last a year or more.

This makes no sense.

A 4th tier could come out in in March time frame and still support a November expansion. Legion and BFA had good content pacing and 4 raids each lasting a decent amount of time and no year long drought.

The road map they released was only for 2023 I believe as well.

like i say if theyre announcing 11.0 then there is no 10.3 unless they do a season 4 type mini season to carry over us into 11.0
