Rumor is bot bans are coming

Do you work at Blizzard? The subs for Classic show they care about Classic… lol I don’t have the link I’ll have to look again but you can easily search for a few people in classic who did get banned for it. If you bot you will be banned it doesn’t matter what it is classic or retail

Another constructive comment. Grats on ur ding dong

Nobody using the bots I am aware of have been banned yet. There is a collective forum and discoord where discussions are had daily.

Right. It really needs to happen ASAP. Our brackets on Blaumeux are being totally cucked right now.

We all know this is a troll thread because Blizzard hasn’t banned a bot since 2017.

Gankzilla, I have a half dosen bots on my friends list and I’ve watched them level from 30-60 and still trucking.

It has been a couple months now… and they seem to be able to log in every now and then just fine,

It took blizz how long to code the keyring?

Are there any actual in game GM’s? I don’t think so.

Is there anyway to even petition a GM in classic? I remember in ye olde days you could do that and get an actual person respond to you in game within 8 hours, ususally less.

Activision can’t be bothered to spend a few pennies to make it happen.

Activions is NOT in the business of spending a little resource for the quality of players.

Their business is to milk more $$$$$ out of you for cheap which is why most of the things they run are garbo.

you guys forget all the people they’ve banned in retail, they will still ban them in classic. ToS didn’t change.

That’s worked out really well hasn’t it?

Blizzard so smart.

Well, it does to an extent. Bot makers are always going to work to beat the system - theres simply too much money to be made with botting and the related RMT. A perfect, bot proof system doesnt exist.

However, with this system bot makers are frequently caught off guard and left scrambling to figure out a. what triggered detection, and b. what broke their bots. If you get an auto-ban the second warden detects, its very easy for bot makers to quickly use throwaway accounts to pinpoint what warden detected in a matter of minutes. End result of the former, lull periods where bot activity is greatly decreased. End result of the latter, a near constant stream of perpetually improving bots that can evade detection easier every single time.

Fake News!

Pretty sure they don’t ban bots since WOD. Maybe a few weeks suspension, but not a ban.
Subs are going down in Classic, and Q1 report needs to look good in 2 months from now.

And Classic is currently doing better than Retail.
A ban means one less retained player for the rest of Classic life-cycle, and the potential gate to get more players into Retail.

You think Blizzard is that stupid to anger stockholders and Activision, while letting their own game dies due to banning new players?

They did this back in vanilla, I remember going up 3-5 rank the reset it happened and it was the reset before rank 14 became available.

12 week grind from zero rank to R14 being the top honor earner every week for 12 weeks straight.

3 weeks from r13-r14 min.

I’ll believe this when I see it. I haven’t heard od a ban wave since WoD. Coincidently when blizz was suing the devs or HB. Looked real good in court when they showed their highly publicized ban wave of 250k botters.

People keep saying this but no one has a link?

Dude. Detection has not changed. Warden sees everything. This is nothing more than blizz PR speak to try calming the masses and allows blizz to milk subs.
They know the hardcore RMT’ERS are going to reinvest and continue. The only thing blizz can do is go after major bot devs like they did HB. How long has that been? What’s the new one everyone is using?
Look at what happened when they did. WoD massive sub drop was not just because that expansion sucked and the whole path finder fiasco.
RMT’ERS downsized because blizz started brokering their gold sales with the token.
Wonder where they got that idea from?

HB was also a very accessible bot. This lead to many many regular players using it.
Anyone else remember how raid attendance dropped across the whole game when there was a patch? Muh addons. Can’t raid. Addon alright. HB.

If it was an instant perms ban as soon as it was detected. It would deter normal players from even attempting to use it. So it’s more widespread.

Blizz has not cared about a fair playing field in years because their analytics show them that the majority of players really don’t either.
A fair enforced plating field will affect the bottom line. To enforce this environment blizz has to pay employees to ban paying customers.
It’s a loss to the bottom line with no measurable increase to the value of the bottom line.
This article is what matters. Gallywixx wants his customers. He doesn’t care what they do in the game.

We are starting to see a few of “I was unfairly banned” posts on the CS forums, two in the past 24 hours and I know a few that was deleted over the past few days. So some kind a wave did happen. Major, probably not, but a few people was nailed for “using third party software and exploiting”

I got banned for using 3rd party programs even though I’ve never used anything, on Sunday… I’m guessing they suspect I was doing it in AV even though I’m rank 6. They won’t give any details though, 6 months it is!

I’d like to know what I used so my other account doesn’t get banned though.

A rumor? How is that relevant to anything? I’ll start a counter rumor that no bans are coming. Now we are back to nothing.
