Rules of Engagement: Classic Hardcore is Coming to World of Warcraft

The addon isn’t hardcore. It’s appealcore.

I don’t expect bots to be a major problem in HC because of death being permanent. I don’t think the ROI for botters will be worth it. I could be wrong, I know bots are very efficient these days and they may find guaranteed ways to level and farm gold, but also players will be less likely to buy gold in a version where they can lose it more regularly.

People will definitely min/max though, but I hope Blizzard considers additional restrictions to help lessen that a bit. Probably too optimistic on that end though.

I am on retail. I dont play classic wow, its boring and grindy. And yeah that will happen, so what? You cant force these stupid player created hardcore rules on everyone. Hardcore = one life and character dies. The end. Nothing more.

You couldn’t hardcore retail if you tried. .-.

You’d have to actively try to die on retail while leveling or do something stupid like pull 20 mobs.

I know, I dont have the patience to lose my hard work and im ok with that. Thats why I stick to rogue-like games instead of rogue-lite games aka “true hardcore” if I ever play something similar. Example, darkest dungeons and darkest dungeons 2. Closest I’ll ever get to hardcore.

Give us a visible solo self found achievement buff for 1-60!

Maybe. But I think we’ll be pleasantly surprised. Either way if they do exist (I really think they will) I’m going to be out there griefing them rules be damned.

There will be some high demand items, whether that be the materials for flask of petrification or just twink gear. Farming will also be more grueling because you can’t just turn your brain off in many efficient farming spots due to the no dying rule.

Level 60 players can’t enter dungeons with lower level players.

Nope, why would they? Its like saying every D4 hardcore player needs to get lvl 100 solo to get name on lilith statue. Would be stupid. Its still an MMO at the end of the day, not a single player game. Group to your hearts content!

Bots have no issue with hardcore. It’s just like getting banned for them.

Its a bastardization of a vanilla server. Its bad.

Actually you can

the vanilla server dream died with the release of classic it’s time to give up friend.

I think the issue will be death while leveling/farming and losing the uptime.

My earlier suggestion of breaking mailing between players would really skewer them though. At the very least item/gold restrictions based on level so they can’t send everything they get to their level 1 mules.

No you can die… its very easy actually. Try questing in chromie time at lvl 50-59. Pull more than 5 mobs and you can die.

Where is the PTR link?

No mention of just petri and porting. Hardcore still cheesecore IMO until that’s removed. Once you get 60 as long as you keep some petri flasks on you the fear of dying is out the window.

Except they usually get banned at level 60 after having had multiple weeks to months to farm and trade and sell gold and not at level 13 after their 1234 attempt.
