I have recently begun leveling alts again as a way to reconnect with old zones and I’m having a blast. I am currently working my way through Hillsbrad on a Horde character and I’ve flow over the Ruins of Alterac/Strahnbrad several times.

Are there are breadcrumb quests that lead here? There is a flight master and another horde NPC but I can’t find a single quest here. There are rares wandering around, buildings, caves, etc. It feels like an eerie ghost town.

I had read somewhere that a lot of the quests in that area were removed during Cataclysm.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

While there may be some random stray quests (like “The Perenolde Tiara” from Stormwind) that still have objectives there, the bulk of quests were just removed. It’s probably in part due to the fact that Cataclysm made Hillsbrad Foothills Horde-only, and a lot of the older quests in Alterac just didn’t fit into the revamped Hillsbrad story.
