How many people have had their run ruined and miss out on a rank for your cloak because you were uncertain about how these runs are suppose to be performed?
I’m rank 5 and was about to get rank 6. But when i finished my run i opened the chest and to my surprise i didn’t get the quest item to upgrade my cloak. Only after doing a quick WoW Head search the comment brings to my attention that i have to down another wing AND kill Thrall to get the quest item.
If the quest was a bit more specific in the “To-Do bit” then of course i wouldn’t have messed up.
Yes it may be my fault for not reading the whole entire quest log and figuring out what the quest meant, but i think it should’ve been more specific in the to-do part so mistakes like this doesn’t happen.
I guess i shouldn’t expect much from a small indie company like Blizzard.
I didn’t get rank 6 either. If they are going to drastically change the requirements from one rank to the next, it needs to be much clearer than buried deep in the quest text.
How many people wasted their 10k coalescing visions due to this incompetence, I wonder?
You can’t make something with such stringent entry requirements have esoteric completion requirements that can only be figured out through trial and error.
This happened to me also. I’ve never been so mad. I can’t remember another system in WoW in which I could work for days and have it all flushed away because of a requirement I didn’t know about. Infuriating and ticket put in.
I saw on my coalescing visions at 13k for a day and a half just reading on how to push past rank 5.
I wanted to be 100% certain of how to do it, as to not feel I missed anything week one. I know you will be able to catch up in the coming week as you get about 3 H Vision keys a week.
But I am happy to say I got rank 6 on my main. My only regret about H VKs as of now is not pushing past Thrall on my 3rd and 4th attempt as I fully didn’t understand how the orb worked, thus missing out on a lot of coins I’m sure.
In the end it will all balance out but starting out it sure is ruff to mess one of these up.
I got Rank 6, but I also saw it posted on the forums before I tried. Though I’m a little worried trying it on my Paladin as I main Prot/Holy and my Ret is fairly far behind compared to my WW Monk.
I ruined 1 because I wanted to do 1 objective+thrall and my wife and me nearly had it…until a mob bashed me and dcd me, then I got back on with 30% health(boss+2 mobs) well we downed boss but the 2 adds got me and she ended up dying too trying to rez me since we were trying to figure how it all worked out. It’s ok tho we had a laugh about it and just learned what NOT to do next time.
That’s the problem though. Doing homework in advance shouldn’t be required if the entry requirements are so high. Those requirements should guarantee the reward on completion of the instance.
I can see why people would be upset because the quest text is ambiguous at best and doesn’t actually tell you to go into the Lost areas just saying “we must delve deeper” is not really cut and dry given nothing changes on your map.
The other things you listed are just stuff clearly available in game, I have to admit I’ve felt like I have had to do external research for 8.3 way more than any other patch.
Its just like reading a guide on a video game. But because this specific video game makes you wait a week to do its content thats why you read a guide beforehand. If you don’t you going to waste more runs cause the objectives do change on what you have to do.
I think their most trollish move is placing Stormwind/Org portal in lesser vision that when you click on them you automatically failed the mission and get locked out of vision for the day.
