Why are you all whining? They literally said they will be doing new zones and custom content along with finishing the unfinished content that came with the release of the game. They basically announced Karazhan is coming in a little easter egg. These forums are never happy.

Because its not something players wanted thats why. Apparently alot of people. And tbh why would somebody pay a sub for something they got years ago on private servers?

To be honest I don’t recall seeing posts asking for season of discovery so my take on it is that most folk’s didn’t ask for it.
Giving what a few asked for (Cata and SoD – as everybody has their idea for Classic +) and not giving what loads of people keep asking for (Wrath Era, bot regulations, bug fixes …). Why should we be happy?
Probably because it’s a bunch of trash retail mechanics shoved into classic.

You could have expressed disappointment with the commentary surrounding the reception of the announcement without the mocking insult (smooth brain) if you intended this to be constructive.

I will give it a go and see how they do with it. I just think it is a good sign that they are playing around with something classic +. It was questionable if they would ever open that box. So I will look at it as a foot in the door, even though I may not like this first attempt when I play it.
from what i understand, it’s LITERALLY wrath/retail mechanics

Well, it may be due to the numerous requests to have talents from tbc/wrath, along with imitating a pirate server named turtle, dual spec etc. for the elusive classic plus.
Beware what you ask for, you might get it …
There’s stuff from legion and other expansions also. It’s all just reused retail assets.
The bigger problem is that it’s obliterating core mechanics of classic, such as threat generation, class identity, tradeoffs between melee and ranged classes, traditional RPG roles, etc. It’s just another arcade-style retail game mode. But why not just play retail if that’s what you want? DF does it much better. It’s not even “the lore” or game world, because no-one is excited about BFD for the lore, not any more than DF stuff.
People play classic because they want traditional MMORPG gameplay and the feel of vanilla, which this won’t have at all. There’s insane power creep and class dilution just like retail. This is going to be hype for like 2 weeks and then flame out.
