Rude Guides, newcomer chat

I simply asked what was better in PvP than hunter because I wasn’t doing well and could never even get an aimed shot off just always stopped. A guide told me to play what I enjoy but… all I said was it’s not great advice if I haven’t played everything yet and how much changes. I understand the question is broad but, there’s clearly differences in classes and what’s strong. I had a guide tell me to ‘git gud’ and another say I was too bad to play with so don’t PvP. Another called me a ‘manchild’ for getting upset at insults. All of these had the flag next to their name. When I reported the chat, I got disconnected. When I logged back in it said I had ‘graduated’ from newcomer chat, does that mean I was kicked from the chat? I just don’t get why be so hostile for the question and not giving advice for classes, but at least 1 person whispered me a graph (I can’t post websites) that showed me what’s the most played classes for pvp. How do I even get back into newcomer chat and add the people that were being nice?

I mean the answer you got isn’t wrong…You will do best playing what you enjoy. When you know what class you want to play in pvp (for a certain reason) - make the switch.

That’s to say that enjoying a C tier class is going to net you a more rewarding experience than playing an A tier class that you really don’t even enjoy…for now.

So I have to make a class of everything and get it to max to find out over months only for it to turn out that it could be not strong? It’s not fun to lose, that is the thing.

The fact is that the requirements to be a guide are so extensive that a player qualifying to be a guide may not have leveled a character since 2005. I think the requirements were designed to expose brand new players to high achievers in the hopes that they would aspire to quickly move into high level content too.

When I was in newcomer chat on this new account, I often ran into well-meaning guides whose advice was out of date. And they really had no way of knowing some of those things, which I only knew because I had recently leveled characters and tried different things to see how they worked.

The only characters I saw who were rude were a few new “players”, who were kicked out of the chat for ads, spam, or general rudeness.

For everyone person who asks why their class is bad at pvp, is another person complaining that same class needs to be nerfed into the ground because it’s too op. It just takes practice and knowing your class and having a good comp.

Or you can just learn how to play your existing class.

You’re going to lose either way so might as well buckle up lol.

Note to self: Don’t ever say “play what you enjoy” ever again.

It’s sort of like giving the advice of “live, laugh, love.” But worse. It would help if people would even explain the strengths and weaknesses of classes and what ones don’t get stopped so easy

I’ll just start telling people to play what they hate. I guess that means I’ll start maining balance druid.

I don’t think I was rude, but guides can kick players from it?

They can kick players out, otherwise newcomer chat would be clogged with carry ads.

No they can’t, if you get reported and blizz deems your behavior wrong, blizz will kick you. But you also get bumped from it if you’re lvl 60 iirc and have 40 hours played.

If the long cast time shots are an issue you could try other specs of hunter as like Beast master has shorter shots that cause bleeds, you can grab a poison shot as well, using a I think it was cunning pet gives you increased movement speed which could get you out of sticky situations in PvP. There are options but whatever you enjoy playing more is how I’d suggest going about things too sad to say. Personally I avoid PvP as I keep getting all the lobbies with the worst behavior in it like rogues who spawn camp the graveyards for possibly easy kills or to troll.

I have no idea what you’re talking about so far as chat, but to get some Aimed Shots off, use some cc first, and/or be far away from your target.

How do I see how long I’ve played? Not sure when I hit 60, but I have been messing around trying a bunch of stuff but everything is so different at low level compared to high so I can’t even get a good feel for anything.

/played
That lets you see how long you’ve played. It might be 30 hours but I can’t remember off the top of my head.

It says… 1 day, 9 hours, 8 minutes. Total time played this level, 13 hours 33 minutes

Maybe it’s because you’re lvl 70? I don’t know if lvl 70s can see newcomer chat as a new player.
