This dungeon is nightmarish at best and un-clearable at worst. I don’t know how any healer is expected to heal through any of the damage in this place, especially with Blizzard’s " Let’s cater to the top 1% of healers who are complaining that healing is too easy and punish every other healer in the game by making Mobs have 40% more health and damage to “MITIGATE” or “SMOOTH OUT” snap healing/over healing". On fortified, the adds do WAY too much damage and on Tyrannical bosses do way too much damage. To quote Blizzard directly “When damage mitigation abilities and healing are too strong relative to player health, the only way to threaten players is to make enemy damage very high and spiky. If healers can very quickly top off their teammates and mana isn’t a limiting factor, enemies have to be tuned to have the capacity to do burst damage that kills players before healers can react. That isn’t very satisfying gameplay.” - Essentially, what they have done with Ruby Death Pools is made mana a factor, made it so that we can’t keep anyone at full health with Dungeon wide passive damage, made damage on all mobs and bosses spikey and burst for a lot and made sure that even if we do manage to hit any heal spell at all we have to stop mid cast to dodge the slew of bad on the ground that can essentially one shot anyone who isn’t a tank. This can also be classified as a form of un-satisfying game play. As a healer not in the 1% of top healers, I’m not sure why EVERY ( and I do mean EVERY SINGLE) expansion, Blizzard try and make things harder for healers at the behest of these elite cream of the crop healers, who have the skill, coordination, team and gold to be the very best of the best knowing that if they do that, about 3 weeks to a month into the expac they are going buff healers again or nerf content again when the other 99% of healers stop queuing up for rated content. It happens every expansion and if you’re reading this you’ll know what I mean, because if you think about it and really think hard, you’ll notice that at the start of every expansion you see a surge in tanks and a sharp drop in healers. THIS IS WHY. Blizzard, I get it you all want to make the game fun and interesting and also balanced, but there has got to be a better way. I don’t pretend I know what that way is, but it can’t be doing the aforementioned “fix healers” strategy because it never works. Healing is a hard, time-consuming and THANKLESS job for most people and the last thing we need is to be told that it’s too easy only to be slapped in the face by almost insurmountable content like this.
As a healer main since MoP I wholeheartedly agree with this… I don’t want to heal mythics anymore due to the groupwide damage and the absolute insanity that is op tanks…
Its hard to take your opinion on the content seriously when the character you post on is wearing world quest gear, no enchants/gems aside from wep and has no tier pieces. Yes ruby is a difficult dungeon but people are still trying to figure out strategies on how to handle boss/trash mechanics and are under geared.
First boss is a hard stat check. Even with good mechanics, I was pushing 65k HPS and was hard ooming at around the 15% mark on the boss for the 15 we tried. The damage is just insane, I’m sure it’s possible with more gear, but even with flawless mechanics there’s no way to get through it unless you’re meeting the healing / dps checks.
Also yikes dog wall of text, condense it into a tl;dr for me.
It’s just as hard for me to take you at face value with 3 pieces of Ivl 400 gear. You’re completely decked out in gems and all your gear enchanted. You’re 8/8 Normal and 7/8 heroic and 2/8 Mythic.
-Insert Natalie Portman Clap Here-
Clearly, you have the time, skill and gold to do everything you can possibly do and I absolutely commend you for that.

It’s so obvious to me and everyone else why it would be easier for you to complete keys at a higher difficulty than almost everyone else. I can sit here and suck your metaphorical EP**N all day if you like, but what I will ask in return is that you not try to invalidate my feelings just because YOU SPECIFICALLY are better than most, luckier than most and/or clearly have a higher and/or more well trained skill at healing than most and more so especially since clearly you know that you are good. I do realize that my gear may not be the best or enchanted or gemmed out, but it’s what I have access to. You may not understand my experience because you have access to more, you play harder and you’re more skilled and you may never, but it doesn’t mean it’s not valid.
I agree, the entire dungeon including the trash setup and some of the mechanics sucks.
The rate of things you need to interrupt is more then the amount of interrupts people have. It’s all over the place.
What’s with the extremely over dramatic complaining? We are in week 2 of the ~9 month season. Season 1 is notorious for needing re-balancing and tuning. Look at what they did after the first week of Fortified. The same thing will happen after this week with a greater focus on bosses.
If you find certain M+ keys too stressful then bump down key levels to your comfort zone. No one’s forcing you to push higher than your weight class until your ready to move up.
HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! Thank you for your wise insight. I’ll treasure it.
Ruby life support is what my group has been calling it lmao
Some of these dungeons are certainly insane compared to others. Was pretty cool to hit 110k hps in nokhud though haha.
Did an 11 last night and yeah we had a few wipes but ended up timing it still. People are being way too dramatic about this stuff. As others have mentioned it is the 2nd week of season 1 of course its gonna be harder, every season 1 has been like this. People are undergeared, don’t know mechanics and just spent the last 6 months blasting easy keys. There’s going to be an adjustment. Come back in a month and tell me it’s still impossible
Why shouldn’t I be able to 2 chest +20 keys that I don’t know in WQ gear with 4 equally geared pugs who also don’t know the dungeons in the 2nd week of a months long season??? This is a slap in the face!!!11!1!!!
he has 1 post. he 100% pays for his runs.
There are 8 dungeons in the pool. Two of them are at least 3-4 key levels more difficult than the others. And no, I’m not just talking about SBG.
you think the top 1% of healers were the ones complaining?
it was the low skill “i shouldn’t have to do anything but heal” people
Keep in mind when I say this, I do think that healers who DPS to assist their group are top notch people and should be praised and applauded for their efforts, but it sounds like you’re implying (and please correct me if I’m wrong here) that blizzard is punishing people who decided to do… only or I guess specifically what their role was designed for. if that is the case…Why? They don’t take the same stance on tanks and DPS, so…I’m confused.
Probably about as classy as you can respond to such an ignorant post. Kudos.
Exactly. I kept saying this all last season. The only people that making the dungeons harder so that healers only had to heal was going to punish were the exact people who weren’t doing content hard enough to matter anyway so now the ones who were healing the high keys are having to heal their *ss off while those other healers can’t even heal a 0 without the whole party wiping repeatedly.
The role of everyone in the party is to do whatever in your kit makes the run go smooth. If healers weren’t designed to have any kind of output, we wouldn’t have spells that dealt damage and encounters wouldn’t have been designed to do little damage. Now that Blizz has tried to appease the crowd that generally doesn’t go above normal dungeons and certainly doesn’t heal above 15’s, the rest of us are working a lot harder than we used to. In SL, I bought 3 stacks of water in S1 and sold all 3 stacks at the end of S4. With a little help of mage food, I might of drank 3-4 of the waters I bought? When this season started I bought 1 stack of water thinking all was well and I’ll just say I’ve refilled that stack a few times. My discord got quite the laugh when I kept asking why my buttons weren’t working because I was so used to not even having to look at my mana bar in a key and I was OOM. I didn’t know druids could even go OOM unless they were spamming regrowth and I don’t really even use that button outside of clear casts. I’ve enjoyed the challenge but it’s certainly been a bit crazy.
There are definitely some wild encounters this week. I’d be all for the “oh we don’t have gear yet” take if every boss was as difficult as any of the RLP bosses, or 2nd boss Nokhud, or last boss of ToJS.
Last boss of ToJS feels especially egregious. I acually think it’s easier than Tempest/RLP bosses until it’s not, if that makes sense? Not having a lock for imp dispel, or Mass Dispel almost feels like griefing. I’ve seen people doing 18+ keys talk about zoning out and 2 healing it for the extra dispel :s
So far I’ve just looked at that fight the same was as I did the boss in ToP. Dispel the one that doesn’t have cd’s or has the weaker cd’s and hope the other one is smart enough to use theirs while I throw LB / IB / the kitchen sink at them. I haven’t done any keys yet this week so my opinion is pretty null. Gotta appreciate such ugly affix’s falling on a holiday week when I’m busy.
Yeah it’s doable. We did it at 15 with BDK, me, havoc, fury, marks…it’s like, if it ever goes on the hunter I have to cleanse him or he’s a corpse. Otherwise it was all about cycling ironbark, health pot, defensives, etc…if he had turtle I’d dispel the other, etc…pretty insane amount of coordination required for it compared to other bosses, and I think if the key level was any higher it might not have been doable for us.
i’m not implying that at all. i’m suggesting that the healers who think “my role was designed only to heal” are wrong.
