hello, I have come to ask if any of you are experiencing this also with the same card or relevant 3080,
Using MSI afterburner to monitor my GPU clock speeds my card randomly goes to 1950 boost speeds, but in raid today for example my card was running at 1785 clock speed all raid, while GPU temp was 54 degrees which is extremely low…
I have 850 wat powers supply, intel I7-10700 processor.
Some tabs open in the background, twitter, youtube etc but ram is not capped, its like 12/16 gb in use.
TLDR, 3080 doesnt maintain its boost speeds in wow, likes staying at stock speeds (1785, and sometimes decides to boost to 1950-1965 mhz even while temps are stable at 54 degrees.
What clock speeds does your tuf run at in WoW typically? Mine is usually running at 1785 and sometimes goes to 1950 dependong on what zone im in which kinda makes no sense. But according to gpubottleneck my intel i7-10700 and rtx 3080 has like less then a 2% bottleneck
I can’t tell you clock speed, I’m not home right now.
But I do check utilization and in areas with high player counts gpu utilization drops to the 60% range highest settings at 1440p, which will scale with frequency (lower at lower utilization). In those same situations, CPU utilization is only around 30%, but a few cores are totally maxed out.
Online bottleneck calculators are not useful. It depends on the game, settings, resolution, and content within the game for bottlenecks.
Thanks for the replies, my temperatues never exceed 60 celsius on my cpu or gpu. but even with 100 fps i still see the 3080 running at 1785 clock speed, where as other 3d games it runs at 1950 steady
WoW is the bottleneck. GPU works less when CPU is bottlenecking it. A lot of things going on when you are in an area with a lot of people. WoW has very poor CPU utilization.
Try Frostbite engine games like Battlefield. 64 players and it will make all your hardware sweat!!
