I used to be able to go into GW, break GW with riptide and quickly pop back into GW.
Now I have to press GW, cancel gw by pressing GW again, riptide and then hit GW again to go back into GW.
I thought this was a bug so I reinstalled/repaired and I still cannot cast out a spell to break GW.
My friend said he can.
Thoughts? If I am in GW and press riptide it gives a red warning “Cannot do that while shape shifted”
Just confirming, it definitely allows me to cast to break GW.
Seems to be a bug that has popped up throughout the years. I see where others have talked about it, but no clear fixes.
Just a mix of updating add ons/restarting wow/etc and eventually it goes away.

Yeah, I exclusively leave Ghost Wolf via casting spells. Never have I ever pressed it a second time to leave it besides testing that it works like that years ago and testing how the talents work with it. Something nefarious is affecting your client.
Vaguely related, lately I cannot cast purify spirits sometimes. Like it shows the animation, doesn’t incur a cooldown, and nothing happens. Shamans are buggin’ out!
Dang and no one has commented to tell me how to fix it - I haven’t been able to cast out of ghost wolf in literally months.
Try turning off all add ons and see if it works like it’s supposed to. If that’s the case, you probably have one thats causing the issue.
For the record, I’ve been playing shaman since cata and never experienced this issue.
Have you tried making a cancel form macro?
I don’t remember the exact syntax, but something like
/cancelform
/cast riptide
Should work. You may need to Google to find out the right syntax for taking off ghost wolf, but then you just replace riptide with the macro, and it will handle the shift for you.
I turned off all addons, reinstalled the game, tried on a different computer, ghostwolf still doesn’t work correctly. I have posted on here numerous times and have never got a reply and have had this issue for almost a full year now lol. I have died so many times to it as well.
When you try it on a different computer or reinstalled, did you import any profiles for anything?
Can you give me a step by step of what you are attempting to do to break ghost wolf?
And have you tested without any talents that augment ghost wolf?
