Even below disc. We need kit improvements to keep up and much tankier totems if we want to be so reliant on them. Having 20% of our healing come from healing stream totem which dies in a single swing and the other 20% to come from a barely visible AoE ground effect is pretty messed up.
Once you hit about 90% mastery it doesn’t seem to bad. In my resto gear I have over 100% mastery.
Currently at 120% mastery, its still really bad. Until you try other healers, you dont really appreciate how bad Rsham really is

Rsham has been my main alt or even my main since legion.
This is the first season where I completely stopped playing it because it’s the most useless boring healer. No matter what you do you or how good you play you are just gonna lose on mana 3-5 minutes into the game(that’s only if your team didn’t die through your cooldowns earlier into the game) lmaoooo.
Wdym, op (xtremeorc) is literally 2500 cr on it, positive in everything. What more do you want man?

What 2s and 3s comps are you playing?
Mains hpal so almost everything else feels harder (because it is)
double all totem hp, make healing wave casts also auto cast lava burst on everyone you have flame shock on, earthwall totem now an aura buff you put on player cause blizz wont fix the visual, spirit link give 40% dmg reduction. kthanks
CD and modifier stacking puts burst too high for rsham to maintain
Rsham needs slow meta (this is a slow meta but because of the amount of external CDs people have to trade )
Bad Tuning will make it so mastery and earth shield aren’t bonus healing anymore but rather a baseline
Do rsham players not get bored of stacking mastery and nothing else just so your base healing is comparable
Then whenever the meta shifts or the spec gets aura buffed they just riptide/hst and afk

I didn’t know you could see my others toons. But yeah, got r1 shuffle last season and glad a zillion times on Rsham. I legit have been having the least amount of fun ever on the class and rerolled an hpal and got glad within a week, and am in shuffle r1 range on him too. Rsham is absolutely trash. We need serious help and it might be time to retire spirit link totem for something much more on par. Tired of mages blinking 20 yards away right as I drop it for them to immediately flop.

resto shaman gameplay is tricky because it’s not common knowledge that being near the earth totem is essential. it’s like with pres-vokers at lower ranks where the concept of a 25-yard healing radius escapes many.
this leads to a sizable stretch of gameplay that’s just not enjoyable, where playing these classes can really test your patience.
even sadder is that in SS, dps players below 2700 MMR will struggle with this. given that a grasp of how to synergize with certain classes seems to become clearer only past the 2700 MMR mark, it looks like the problem might lie in the class design itself. it’s problematic when only the top 0.2% get the mechanics.
furthermore, disc sucks more than resto sham/pres evoker proven by statistics
When rsham is good, its pretty fun due to the amount of offensive utility it has. Honestly my favorite healer.
But when it isn’t tuned high it’s really apparent how outdated their healing toolkit itself is. The aoe positional requirements on its biggest cds (link and earthern) is wayyy outdated compared to the toolkits of other healers. They have no real “oh crap” buttons to save ppl and cover mistakes like other healers do.
Think resto definitely needs a rework.
