Hey folks, recently faction changed in preparation for the Zalandari to become playable and I'm just loving these trolls.
I was feeling inspired so I tried to write something for this toon that I may rp on.
I tried to do some homework via wowpedia and wowhead but I'm no expert on troll lore so please forgive anything that may not be correct!

The moon cast an eerie light on the horde flag of the Banshee’s Wail in the port of Dazar'alor. A lone troll across the docks took a large bite of an apple as he eyed the horde grunts shuffling around the deck, the ones giving orders, and the supplies entering and leaving the ship.
“Sho’, is that really you?” a young voice said from behind. Still chewing on his apple, the troll turned around and looked down at the child before pressing is index finger to his lips. He nodded and pointed his thumb back at the ship while looking at the child expectantly.
With a lowered voice the boy responded, “That’s da horde ship, they came here a few days ago with princess Talanji an’ Zul. People are saying da horde rescued dem from a biiiigg,” – the boy stretched his arms out as wide as possible to emphasize the size – “ice monster an’ da king is letting dem stay here as thanks.”
Shogasta snorted and took another bite of his apple.
“Hey, Sho’? Can ya show me that trick ya always do? I’ve been practicing since you showed me last but I still can’t get it right.”
Shogasta nodded and shuffled around in his pouch before pulling out a small totem and setting it on the ground. While taking another bite of his apple, he slowly waved his hand over the totem and a small flame appeared at the top of it, brightening the boy’s face.
“Wow, so cool! I do it just like that but it never works.”
Shogasta pressed his finger to his lips once more before snuffing out the flame and gesturing towards the totem. The boy nodded his head and took a deep breath before waving his hand over the totem causing a small spark to appear.
With a lowered voice the boy sad, “Whoa, I think I’m getting it now.” He waved his hand over the totem again and a larger flame appeared for a few seconds before giving out. He took a deep breath and gradually waved his hand over the totem once more giving rise to a sustained flame. “What if I…,” he said, before bringing his other hand over the totem.
Wide-eyed, Shogasta tossed the remains of his apple aside and pushed the boy away just before a large flame burst out, briefly illuminating the docks before incinerating the totem.
“What was that?!?”
“Who’s there??!”
“Someone check that out, now!!!”
“I see someone!”
Shogasta grabbed the boy and ran up the stairs to the bazaar. “Sho’, I’m sorr”- “It’s fine, we just gotta get outta here.”
“Stop! I see ya’! Ya not gettin’ away from me!”
It was well past midnight so there were no merchants or people out to blend in with but there was a wide selection of empty stalls to hide behind. Upon reaching once such stall, Shogasta stopped and grabbed the boy by the shoulders.
“Hide behind here an’ don’t move until I give ya a signal.”
“Signal? What signal?”
Shogasta winked with his good eye and shuffled the boy behind the stall before turning to face the troll grunt that stopped a few yards away with his weapon drawn.
“You! What were ya doin’ there down by da port huh? You some lowly street-scum thinkin’ of stealin’ from da horde?”
Shogasta let out a deep laugh before spitting on the ground. “A darkspear has da audacity to call me scum? That’s rich comin’ from one wearing the colors of his masters.”
“Ya taunts ain’t gonna work on me! We saved ya dear princess and da Zandalari are workin’ for us now. I’m sure I’d be doin’ ya king a favor by removin’ vermin like ya from the streets anyway!”
The grunt charged at Shogasta, positioning his axe for a large, vertical strike. With a sigh, Shogasta tapped on the weapon with an electrified finger as he side-stepped the telegraphed strike. The hair on the grunt’s head rose up as he cried in pain and dropped his axe. The grunt quickly reached down for his weapon but it had vanished as soon as he dropped it.
“A mighty slave of the horde doesn’t need a weapon to fight street-scum like me, right?”
“Damn shaman voodoo!” He raised his fists up and charged at Shogasta again. The shaman smiled and circled around the grunt as he missed another blow a nearly fell to the floor again. Shogasta walked back to the stall and rested his back against it.
“Da horde must be desperate if dey be takin’ in fools like ya. Do ya need me to cover my good eye too? Ya could try yellin’ some more, or maybe flail ya arms around to throw me off.”
The grunt was clearly beginning to lose his temper.
“You need us! The Zandalari failed to unite the Gurabashi an’ the Amani! The Zandalari failed to tap into the power of the Thunder King! Ya be housing the Farakki, Frostmane, an’ Amani at ya doorstep because ya keep failin’ to do anything’ on ya own!
“Ya better watch ya mouth, boy.”
“Ya can’t even keep your own princess safe and ya forced to rely on visions from some prophet to keep yaselves afloat. We’re doin’ ya a favor and ya know it!”
Shogasta grabbed his pouch of totems that threw it behind the stall before making his way to the grunt.
“Ya be talkin' about things ya know nothin’ about. We gave the lesser tribes an opportunity to join us in our glory but dey weren’t up to da task.”
A surge of electricity ran down Shogasta’s arms as he continued. Several voices and footsteps could be heard moving about in the darkness around the pair.
“We sent dem trolls out to explore an’ gather knowledge about da world around us. Not to suck at the teet of anyone willin’ to offer dem a bit of power. Their failure was their own.”
Without realizing it, the grunt starting trembling as the tall figure closed the distance between them. More and more voices and footsteps could be heard scurrying around.
“We allowed dem refuges to reside here an’ lick their wounds because we’re generous an’ we take care of our own; just as we allowed your horde to reside in our glorious city."
Now, only a few feet away, Shogasta reached out towards the grunt’s throat with a hand cackling with surges of electricity.
“An’ you presume to come here wit’ ya broken, beaten, desperate horde, an’ tell us that we be needin’ ya? Nah, mon, ya got it all wrong.
The voices grew even louder as several thuds could be heard hitting the ground.
“Tell me something, Darkspear. Who do ya fight for?”
“F..for da horde.”
The charged dissipated and Shogasta grabbed the grunt’s neck. “Nah, nah, nah, I didn’t ask ya who ya served. I asked ya who ya fought for.”
“Please…”
Shogasta waved his free hand above their heads in a wide arc and large columns of flame burst from several totems placed in a circle around them. The fires illuminated the faces of the many street urchins and vagrants that had gathered around them.
“I fight for my people, Darkspear. I fight for the Zandalari, an’ until ya come to understand that, ya not worth killin’. Zandalar, forever.”
Shogasta released his grip on the grunt and extinguished the flames, bringing darkness back to the bazaar.
“Try not to catch a cold.” He said as he made his way back to the port.
The grunt crumpled to the floor and was immediately set upon by the crowd as they stripped him of his armor and gold. They quickly finished with him and dispersed, leaving him half-naked on the floor. A few moments later he heard a soft thud near his head and a deep breath before he felt warmth and saw a young boy’s face illuminated by the glow of a totem.
With a smile the boy pressed his fingers to his lips and ran off into the darkness.
“Hide behind here an’ don’t move until I give ya a signal.”
