Just cause it ainât fallen in lore. Doesnât make it not a interesting topic. Like chatting about all cities both Horde and Alliance, and siege tactics to attacking it.
Iâm legitimately curious whether the battle reports you âcome up with laterâ have any correlation to what happens in-game or if its entirely fanfiction
Damn near impossible, which is why nobodyâs successfully done it, imo. The Horde completely conquered the surrounds in the Second War, but they could never claim Ironforge itself.
The closest thing the cityâs had to a fall was a coup from within, staged by Moira, whose somewhat legitimate arrival actually gave her reason to be there.
TBH the moment I seen you guys were starting to call in off server people, I started thinking about calling it. This was suppose to be a RP-PVP event yet I seen people from Dalaran and Tich which are non-RP servers. Which would kind of justify some grievances people had earlier in this thread.
Also I dont think we had more then 20 people anyway, it was all our server and was pretty even.
Outsider looking in here, but tbh I think RP-PvP is a whole different world of RP. I donât think acknowledging game lore comes into it at all - thereâs been events to raid Darnassas and Undercity for example.
I think itâs RPing in Azeroth only in the very loosest sense. It reminds me of medieval re-enactment or something like that - brief bouts of IC, so itâs arguably a form of RP, but most of it is effectively OOC.
Wasnât my raid so it wasnât really my choice. Would have gotten crug clan or Horde army to come but Tyrathorâs guild had the night off and Crug was working otherwise they would have came. And my guildies arenât really interested in world pvp.
LFG advertised it as a bear run I donât think it was planned as anything else at that point.
Getting wind that Horde was planning to attack a major Alliance city twenty soldiers of the Alliance gathered for the defense. Sending scouts we spotted the Horde starting to gather in the snow of Dun Morogh so the soldiers of the Alliance attacked them before they could muster. Victory was the Alliance.
From there we regathered Stormwind waiting for the counter attack which never happened, instead we got word that they were attacking Nazjatar. We didnât care, our goal was to defend the Major cities.
The second attack was mustering, so we decided to go back to Ironforge to gather for the defense. Remaining at twenty strong we got up high in Ironforge for the defense. We let them advance into the main city where their line broke their members scattering to fight for their own glory so flanking the ones running away from their line was easily dispatched. Their numbers quickly fell due to poor battle tactics.
After that drinks back at Stormwind. Glory to the Alliance and all who defend our cities.
What were the in-character reasons to suspect alliance forces would even still be in Nazâjatar, let alone why you would go there and focus on them instead of on the much bigger threat Azsharaâs forces in the area pose to the well-being of the horde?
Oh ok nevermind this was an out-of-character achievement run? In that case thereâs no need to have an rp justification since its just pvp which is fine and valid.
Heh, that makes sense but my point is that advertising an RP-pvp event then motivating non-RPers to attend with promises of ingame rewards is like if my character is getting in an argument with your character and I paid some random person to distract you with spam /whispers.
I would be using out-of-character resources to win this in-character argument, which is poor sportsmanship and just bad rp, imo.
