[RP] There's Treachery Afoot

In the outskirts of Nethergard Keep, the group of Vigilantes gather in response to a letter they had received…

" Are you sure this is it, Iceni? It’s hard to make out heathen dribble both on and off paper, you know…"

said Orlandeau, gripping the hilt of his blade in preparation.

“This is it, alright. What better place for a setup than a mineshaft?

Said Iceni, sizing up the apparently vacant cavern that lies ahead. The pair marched forward, accompanied by the rest of their band of mercs: Macphisto, Kyla, Callahan, Thotticus, Destrey, Romulus, Jim and Exarien.

“It would be best if a few of us stay here and keep watch. The intel is…scarce as it is.”

Said Jim as he signaled Romulus, Exarien, Iceni and Callahan to stay back to keep watch. As rest of the crew cautiously entered the barren Mines, they observed the trail of corpses which littered the descending trail.

Join me in prayer as their is surely corruption ahead. I can feel it

Said Thotticus, as the ironclad Draenei kneeled, clutching her libram in an effort to bless her colleagues with the gifts the light has to offer. As they advanced deeper into the cavern laced with the décor of corpses alas they have found what they came for. Off in the distance was a bound elf of blood, wearing a crimson red dress demanding to be freed. As they approached the perceived “damsel” in distress, an ensemble of stumpy greenskins and Furry bipedal andromorphic came rushing in.

“Let her go!”

Muttered one of the barely coherent Gobbo’s, as the two groups look at eachother with ill intentions.

“What do you mean let her go?! We received a letter to come here, this isn’t our doing”

replied Kyla in a state of genuine confusion. The rope bound elf yelled out to one of her fellow traitorous elves of blood whom she was addressing as “Highlord”, clearly a self appointed title.

“Highlord?” Orlandeau laughed in response to such a claim. “Highlord of what exactly?”

In an effort to stop the commotion, Kyla attempted to communicate with the nearly unintelligible Gobbo’s and talking carpets accompanying them, explaining that we had received a letter to arrive here and this was clearly a setup. The mines began to shake, roaring with the sound of impending doom. “It’s going to collapse!” Shouted Destrey “Follow me!” as he lead the escape from the crashing rocks falling from the roof of the mineshaft. As the Vigilantes made for their escape, Thotticus, who stayed behind to ensure the safety of all, was ambushed by the spineless heathens in absence of her colleagues. Cowards.

As the cry for help was heard, the Vigilantes made an effort to turn back in time to save their comrade, only to find that the spineless ambush was a success and the few of them had fallen. As the cloud of deception was lifted, the rest of the crew knew exactly what must be done. “Justice must be served” Proclaimed Iceni, as she lead the remaining warband into the mineshaft, showing no quarter. One by one the Greenskins, furry heathens and blasphemous “Highlord” accompanied by it’s followers were slain.

It was then that the enemy learned that you can run but there is no escaping Justice.

Letter from HR,

This night has taught us many lessons, tone down our drinking on the job cough Callahan, keep our blades and armor close and abstain from bareknuckle boxing…Romulos. These diversions led to the loss of good agents tonight and will not happen again.

Though the situation has been corrected with revenge killing, we need to tighten up. More wet work is in order, baby sitting townsfolk has obviously made the Blackhearts soft and this will not be tolerated.

This is untrue. There was one who escaped to kill an unwanted druid in the woods nearby. One very familiar with mines.
