The rain beaded up on the antlers of the Highmountain Tauren, as he looked to the sky he smiled. “Another blessing from the earth mother” he said with relief. The drought was over, the crops would now grow with the water provided by the earth mother. Saylin was at peace, just him, his land, and the earth mother.
As he tending to his crops, off in the distance he heard a cascade of explosions, one after another like drums. He immediately began running towards the sound. The rain made the ground slippery and mud covered, as he shifted into feral form he continued to hear the explosions getting louder and louder. Finally he reached the source of the explosions. He prowled in the shadows as he tried to get a better vantage point.
Below him, a group of alliance mining for something as they used explosives to clear massive areas of rock away. He stared in awe, his land was being destroyed right in front of him, the land the earth mother had given to him. Rage quickly set in. Another explosion was set off and the ground shook. He couldn’t sit back and watch them destroy what he loved. He quickly charged one of them pouncing on top of him clawing him to pieces.
Rage filled him as he attacked the others. They were either slaughtered out of rage or managed to flee. Saylin was the only one left in the area as the rain continued to pour, he fell to his knees. “What have they done to you, earth mother?” He asked with a vengeful tone. He could hear more noises off in the distance and swiftly shifted into an owl and perched on the top of a tree to get a better view. What he saw sent fear into his heart.
A caravan crossing into his land, but not just any caravan, an alliance caravan. Guards on horseback, wagons filled with equipment and people, and the most freighting thing of all, huge machinery that resembled a drill. Saylin was frozen in fear. “I-I-I can’t do this, not on my own” stuttered Saylin as he took to the sky.
