I’m probably going to try an RP server for Classic, but before I finalize that decision, I did wanna discuss a few things about Raiding Guilds on those servers:
Will there be high and medium end raiding guilds on a Classic RP server, and if so how many will there be, and how difficult would they be to get into as compared to a PvP or PvE server Raiding Guild?
Also, how does RP go during a Raid? Is it OOC for the most part?
There will be. There were when i was on vanilla and there will be now. AS to how many who knows. OOC for the most part.
The alliance half of my guild will be on an rp server, if you’re wondering if anyone is going to have one.
I’m already in a raiding guild that will be rolling RP. And there’s another guild that’s basically the Borg that’s going RP as well.

As far as how many there will be? You will have to wait and see what your servers population looks like. There will be different guilds for hardcore raiding and casual raiding. I raided up to Naxx in vanilla. Hardcore raiding guilds can be tough to get into no matter the server type. It depends on your skill and ability to raid on a high end level. RP servers have everything a pve/pvp server does except a bit more RP and you can get things done without getting ganked.
If you RP you don’t do it in raids. No time for it. If you do want to then you’d need to join a guild that does specifically that. RP wasn’t that common on my RP server in vanilla. I did do a ton of raiding and pvp though. RP servers have the best of every world. People think wpvp never happens but it does. On my server in vanilla there were pvp guilds that required you to be flagged up for pvp at all times. It was awesome because those who wanted to pvp could. There were Xroads raids all the time.

People don’t rp in raids to my knowledge. I suppose there are exceptions but I wouldn’t worry about it
My experience on RP servers is that very few people who are raiding are “always on” roleplayers. Silver Hand had dozens of high quality raiding groups on both factions and while RP was minimal, many people gravitated to the RP servers because they want a more mature and sensible community. Less people are willing to tolerate the leet-ness activities etc.

I find that I’m looking for a mix of both; A friendly and helping RP community that also enjoys raiding (not hardcore just 2 days per week, probably).
That’s going to be an emergent group within any RP server. But they’re definitely the right servers for you. Others (mostly) won’t disparage the RP, and you’re more likely to find the strong RP group there.
