RP nelf priest as a banshee

Is it possible to roleplay my nelf priest as a banshee that died in the battle of the torns, came back as a banshee and possessed her own body?
Also, would it make sense if she still were faithful to Elune, even after death? Would she be able to wield the light? Like, maybe after she came back, she thinks that her mission is to carry Elune’s vengeance?
I’m kinda new to RP but I love nelfs and their history …

As long as you’re not violating Blizzard’s ToS, you can RP whatever you want. Whether or not others take interest or ignore the character depends on the writing; as a general rule, characters that respect the lore and are well-thought out will have a better reception than those breaking lore or poorly written.

Banshees are a common form of elven undead, and there’s precedent for them repossessing their bodies. If you’re wanting a ghostly appearance, there are toys that give your character a ghostly appearance, as well as a banshee costume only available during Hallow’s End. Do keep in mind though that banshees typically don’t hang around populated areas(with the exception of those loyal to Sylvanas and the Forsaken, that is), so you may need to do a bit of extra writing to explain why the character is hanging around the living.

Plausible? Yes, but the question to answer here is why. Undeath makes an individual more susceptible to negative emotions and less receptive to positive ones; many who fall into undeath often forsake what faith they held before. Though retention of their faith isn’t an impossibility, determining why will shape the character and set them apart from their peers.

Possibly, yes, especially if she’s on a mission of vengeance. However, undeath might mess with the willpower or weaken the faith needed to properly wield it. Additionally, wielding the Light is very painful for undead, both physically and mentally. While it’s still somewhat unclear whether Elune’s Light is the same Light that paladins and priests wield, it’s probably safe to assume that it still carries similar effects.

One option you might look into, especially with the new Night Warrior lore, is the Shadow or Discipline specs. Shadow magic tends to hold fewer negative side effects for undead entities, while also being more representative of the darker side of the moon.

Thank you very much for the answer! I will write her story considering these advices =)

I’d recommend staying in Shadowform while IC to give you that ghostly aura but otherwise I’ve seen a NBelf do precisely this and nobody had a problem with it.

People worth playing with tend to be pretty open to looser interpretations of race / class when it’s in service to a fun character. I’d recommend TRP3 to give a heads up you’re RPin a Banshee though. Not every RPer has it but it’ll save you some time on having to explain the premise to people a little slow on the uptake.

Thanks for the tips! I will download the addon right now =) I also made a macro to use the banshee scream (the one from the mobs) whenever she uses psychic scream, and I am very excited to start working on her =D Thanks everybody ^^
