[RP: Kirin Tor Convocation] Thanks to all who came!

-PRELUDE-
Magi across Azeroth find a letter from Archmage Briana Cain herself, which has magically appeared through arcane delivery to everyone who wears a Kirin Tor signet ring, necklace or other charm. The letter informs them of the approaching Convocation, a return to Dalaran to share knowledge and discuss strategy.

-INTRODUCTION-
The Kirin Tor have trained skilled magi from every nation and corner of Azeroth. While many of those magi remain in Dalaran and in service to the Kirin Tor, some return to their homelands to serve as advisors or to help their people.

A few times a year, these magi are invited to return to Dalaran to share news from across Azeroth and discuss possible involvement of other magi or their allies in alignment with the values and principles of the Kirin Tor.

-FORMAT-
Magi and their allies are invited to the Purple Parlour for this two-day convocation, which will take the format of a round-table discussion. Facilitated by an Archmage of the Kirin Tor, each magus will have about fifteen (15) minutes to speak and summarize any ongoing campaigns or missions they are involved with.

Instead of speaking themselves, magi can opt to introduce another speaker, a campaign commander, for instance, to speak on their behalf if they think this individual will provide a better summary.

-SCHEDULE-
This two-day event will take place on August 5th and 6th. Guests will begin to gather around 4:30pm local Dalaran (sevrer) time, with the Convocation officially beginning at 5 bells on both days.

August 5th- Day One: What We Know
On the first day, the Kirin Tor will hear on the various campaigns that have occurred or are occurring. Each speaker will be given approximately 15 minutes to speak (pre-written text and emotes are encouraged to help make this time efficient).

August 6th- Day Two: The Path Forward
On the second day, magi and campaign allies will decide on plans forward in the various campaigns. After an initial discussion, some conversations might break out into different chambers.

-LEGERDEMAIN LOUNGE-
On both nights, after the Convocation is adjourned at 7pm, magi and guests will be invited to the Legerdemain Lounge for wine, food and time to socialize. This will be unstructured time, and all citizens or visitors to Dalaran are invited to join in and meet people from all over Azeroth.

-LAST MINUTE NOTES-

  • This event is NOT hosted, ICly, by Axiann of The Sunreavers, but by the Kirin Tor proper, though Axiann and his Sunreavers are expected to be there, representing the Archmage.
  • This is not a Year 35 or Ascension specific event. This event is open to all Kirin Tor friendly mage characters and to any and all campaigns currently happening on Azeroth.
  • While the goal of this event is the sharing of information and making the world feel more alive and immersive, the recruitment of interested parties to various campaigns could always be a fun secondary result.
  • This is a cross faction event, so be sure and bring some Elixir of Tongues (though some will be available for those who forget)

In the mail for Captain Loviattar specifically a series of letters were sent, none would speak in exception to one.
“Good evening, don’t forget the convocation Captain~“

Arcane Letters were once again sent out for this convocation. Many flying about and landing in front of the recipients

“Good evening Champion, this is Archmage Briana Cain! I would once again love to extend a formal invitation to the Kirin Tor Convocation! The date and time are on the paper …. That being said please do not rip or eat your invitation.”

Loviattar snatched up the letters with a growl. She took one look at Kirin Tor seal and without even opening it, ripped the paper apart. Unfortunately she was too slow and the speaking one belted out its message before she could shred it.

“Don’t tell me what to forget!” she ranted, the paper tearing with an audible rip before she threw the pieces away. She’d get someone to clean it up later.

“Corvin! The Kirin Tor are summoning us to another waste of time meeting! Put it on the calendar!” Loviattar shouted throughout Shal’aran.

The sound of pen scrawling on paper was heard soon-after, a voice following. “Consider it done, Captain. Already noted. I’ll post it on the notice boards around the base as well.”

Dalaran was buzzing.

It was the week of the Convocation, and there had been a steady flow of new arrivals pouring from the Violet Gate as magi from all across Azeroth returned to Dalaran to report on the state of the world.

The Kirin Tor, which did not involve itself in the faction of politics, sure did enjoy being aware of them. Knowledge was power, and knowing who was in power, and what they planned to do with it, helped the Council of Six, and their Archmagi, in their own plans.

Axiann Sungazer, Magister of the Sunreavers, had been hard at work all week. On the orders of his Archmage, he had ensured that rooms were ready at the Filthy Animal for all those visiting from Horde Nations and tribes. Those coming from Alliance territories would be lodged at the Heroe’s Welcome.

For those coming from neutral factions, such as their allies of the Argent Crusade, rooms at the Legerdemain Lounge would do nicely. Axiann had seen that all arrangements had been made and that the innkeepers were informed on what and who to possibly expect.

The Legerdemain Lounge was a popular spot already. Those arriving early for the Conclave would often find themselves there in the late afternoon and evening hours to enjoy a drink, some food or a tall tale.

Arille Azuregaze, the owner and barkeep, had gone to the trouble of giving the place a good cleaning, not just for the casual evenings, but especially for official receptions that would take place after the Conclave itself on both nights. Vats of wine had been ordered for the occasion, the crystal goblets polished and the floors scrubbed.

As Axiann walked the streets, admiring the dozens of decorations going up, he noticed that citizens, restauranteurs and vendors were in a great mood, setting up kiosks and booths all around town, hoping trade and sell with folks from all over.

Yes, it was going to be a busy and important week in Dalaran, and Axiann looked forward to every minute of it!

It was good that Axiann and the people of Dalaran were enjoying the peace and quiet as they busied themselves for the upcoming meeting. It was the calm before the storm… which had only just arrived.

“Do not tell me where my people are staying!” a voice rang out through the streets, echoing between the buildings and down the alleys. For those that had frequented the city in the time the Saberguard had used it for their base, it was clear who was yelling.

“The Shal’dorei do not stay in a place called the Filthy Animal and we certainly will NOT sleep on those crusty, disgusting furs! Get your hands off of me, I can see myself out!”

Loviattar had arrived in Dalaran.

In One More Glass, the elf finds a seat on the upper floor watching the streets flow with all shapes and styles of Magi. Casually sipping his wine, the occasional magi catching his attention, as he quietly studies the ones with a more powerful magical aura.

His robes the bright red and gold of Silvermoon, he may not be a major force backing the Kirin Tor itself, but is there regardless for the Thalassians still loyal to Silvermoon and it’s people, including the Sunreavers. Patiently waiting for the main discussions to begin.

(I will need an anchor later on if at all possible, as I’m on MG)

((Can we get a confirmation on which Dalaran? I see a half dozen people in both Legion and Northrend Dalaran))

Seems most delegates have settled on Northrend, so We will direct people there.

Wrath Dalaran, so we can use the Purple Parlor and a more open Ledgerman Lounge!

Anyways, have a screenshot folder of the first night.

The Kirin Tor Conclave
Day One

In the Violet Citadel’s Purple Parlour, high above the city of Dalaran, over 40 representatives from guilds and orders from the four corners of Azeroth met to discuss current affaires.

The Convocation was called by Archmage Briana Cain of the Kirin Tor, with logistics organized by Magister Axiann Sungazer of The Sunreavers.

The first speakers were Magister Sungazer (Sunreavers) and Captain Loviattar Al’shaanth of the Duskwatch Saberguard, who covered a recently resolved threat in the Broken Isles and Dalaran

Captain Ritelle Songsear and High Warlord Jan-Mak, both of the Vol’kar Legion, then spoke of the ongoing efforts of the Legion and the Coalition they belong to, chasing after a Master Cultist and his minions all across the Eastern Kingdoms.

The Priestess Lyastei Starbreeze then spoke of the Helping Hands movement and their plans in Kalimdor, followed by Butcher Gravellaugh, representing The Hand of Algalon, who spoke of various undertakings by that group in Quel’thalas, Lordaron and Icecrown.

The last of the scheduled speakers was Archmage Celia Cindersong of the Sunfury Battalion, who told the tale of the Battalion’s taking down of a former general of Kael’thas Sunstrider and the stopping of an attempt at destroying the Sunwell.

Rounding out the evening, the floor was briefly given to Professor Derirae Falverta-Keendown and Nikiku, of Sindu Alar, and Lastiari Everfate, who shared their purpose and extended invitations to work with others.

Upon closing of the formal event, many participants took advantage of the Legerdemain Lounge to share a drink, some food and good stories.

A BIG thank you to Calnos for many of these wonderful screenshots of the event, and to all 40+ participants who helped make this event a success!

The Conclave continues tonight as we discuss paths forward.

It was great having you guys there!!

A few corrections:

  • Ritelle Songsear spoke on behalf of the Legion of the Dawn, at the request of Highlord Lys Raseri, in their absence. Extended field operations prevented them from attending (IC explanation). Ritelle spoke of the Master Cultist and his minions.

  • High Warlord Jan-Mak spoke partly on the Coalition, criticized the handling of a previous prisoner, and spoke at length about the wars in Kalimdor. A united centaur warband helmed by the one named Batu Khan lays ways to Desolace, seeks entry to Stonetalon, and slaughtered every Horde, Cenarion, and non-affiliated Troll his band came across.

  • Additionally, a group of rebels that waged war against the Alliance to reignite the Fourth War were brought down. The “Revenants of Rezan” committed serious war crimes against Kaldorei innocents in the forest, and the Vol’kar Legion brought them to justice.
